How do you get over the loss of a pet?

My dog passed away Saturday night. He was 11 years old and he was like my little brother. WE have had him for half of my life. I really can't even remember what my life was like without him. Its so weird walking through my house w/just one dog. What are some things that you guys have done to help ease the pain of losing a pet. It seems like I am fine and then I will have a fleeting thought and cry. Its a mess.

I have a doggy as my little brother as well, 5 years old. he usually makes me happy and laughing. I cannot imagine the life should be without him. Sigh... Sorry to hear that you lost the dog, I think I can understand your feeling now. It must be a hard time, but have to begin the life without him. he is away~ Maybe you should find something new joyful, or have another pet.
