Lists & Goals

I am a big list writer. The thing with me though - is that I write a list and then crumple it up and throw it away. Usually the list is just to brainstorm everything and I remember it after writing it down. To-do lists, shopping lists, goals, etc. I am currently typing up a goal list and I think I may keep this one because it will remind me of what I want/need to do. Does anyone else write lists and then throw them away? What about writing down your goals?

I only write shopping lists. Otherwise I forget and start spending more money than I should LOL However, something new that I'm trying is tracking some stuff for my daughter and I like food, my pain level, her meltdowns, the weather, our activity level & how much we sleep. I'm trying to get our health back on track as we both have medical problems. I sure hope this helps.

I tried doing a food journal and just didn't have the will power to keep it up. I was thinking about trying again. It might help if I can make it work for me. I usually write a shopping list if it's from my grandma otherwise I tend to remember. But I usually end up forgetting the list from her on the table. :P

I'm at a point where I don't have a choice but to make it work for me. Things need to improve around here. Good luck if you choose to do it again.

I'm not a list writer but I should be. For example, when I go grocery shopping I almost always end up coming home without some of the things I need. Or when I go the store for milk and come home with a bunch of other foods and no milk. I don't know how many times that has happened. It will probably happen again. I have heard from lots of different resources, that writing things down is good for us to help remember things and it helps to reach our goals if we have them written down. I have a girlfriend that writes in a diary every night while she is laying in bed. She sometimes doesn't have a lot to write about but she says it helps her to relieve the stress when she has problems. She makes it a habit and writes at least something down, something that may have happened to her that day or just how she felt.

I don't have the persistence to write in a journal or diary. I have a really hard time sticking to it for longer than a week. I did two weeks recently but then somebody came to visit and was staying in my house and I just gave up on writing every night.

I throw them away later once I decide I don't need them. Unfortunately I make lists and then forget about them or misplace them making them totally useless to me.

Yeah. A lot of times the lists I do intend on keeping end up somehow missing anyways so if it's important I type it up and save it on the computer. :)
