Hi Dear, well first of all you need to ask yourself few questions, like, Are you satisfied with your current job. Are you happy with what you are doing and geting the returns as expected in terms of job satisfactions as well as money. What are the opportunities you will get here and compare it with your new job. As far as my thinking seeing the current situations in the job market, better to stick with your old job, as you will have more job security over here compared to the new one. If you feel that your current company is not doing good and can lay off people any time, then go for it. But if this is not the case make sure that there should not be any kind of job insecurity with the new one. And they are giving you the good comentation compared to your old job. Also look for vertical growth instead of horizantal growth. Because at one given point postion does matter.

I agree with babshish, myself. You should make sure you are satisfied with your current job, if you're happy doing what you are doing, etc. I also agree that you should stick with your current job as you will have more security here. However, I think you should go for the new job if you're not happy with your current situation. I hope everything works out well for you.
Keep us posted and happy mylotting! Kathy.

Era of financial crisis. If you have a good job and happy in the company.SO I Suggest that it should not change.Of course ,just my opinion. To adapt to a new environment takes time. And changes the company or job maybe to learm more new things. Decision-making power in your hands .

I had a similar experience: I worked for my past employer for more than five years and I found myself getting tired of the routine. I moved to a company that I believe can challenge my thinking and at the same time allow me to learn new skills.
My advice is to know the background of the company first. You said your friend recommended you to this company, right? Ask her what she knows about the company. You could even ask her why she recommended that company to you. There must be a reason why she shared you that information, maybe she thought you would grow there personally and professionally.
By the time the company gives a job interview, also take note of the ambience of the office. Do you think you could survive in that new environment? Is it better than your previous or present job? You could also ask your interviewer about the company background. After that, weigh the pros and cons of moving to a new job. If you think this will be a positive move then go for it. If not, you can stay in your current job and search for more opportunities. Good luck!

Even though I am happy with my job/work right now I still wanna apply in an airline company and be a flight attendant. And that will happen after 1 yr. That is because I made a promise to my employer that I will not leave the company for 1 yr.
As a piece of advice - just pick the choice that will really make you happy and contented. If staying in your current company is not enjoyable anymore and you are not growing I think it is time to go.
Happy MyLotting!

look for a job that really like. it's so hard working when you don't have a heart for it. it's like having a trash. i don't think i would change my job as of now. what i intend to do is to have additional jobs around to increase bucks in my pockets, wallets and banks.

For professional growth, geting yourself a new job is a bold and positive move. There is no point in staying with your current job if you don't feel good about it. If the chance of being accepted to that new job, grab it.

Hello cindyhxf,
I think you need to be brave to make a decision related to your career. If you no longer feel happy with your current job, you should try to get a new job. Nobody knows whether you will be happy at the new place but at least, you must try and accept the challenge. Even if you are not happy, you still can try to find another job. Not too soon of course due to economic downturn right now but at least, try to get some new experiences at the new place-if you get the job later.

I think you're so lucky, Cindy. During this global economic crisis, you can get the opportunity to change your tiring job. Is there anything more lucky than that? I've been working at my present company almost 6 years. From 2 years ago I've decided to leave. But I haven't any good chance. So you're lucky. I absolutely support you to change job!

It's a risk for sure, but if you are not completely happy try something new! Is it a step up though? To get a better job later you might only want to move jobs if it is a better one or else it looks like you can't stay at a job for a long enbough time. I say do it. I hate my job right now (I am a receptionist) and I would love to get a new one but I can't find any that will hire me being fresh out of college and no experience.

i believe that during the interview we were asked with a question such as why we applied. if the answer is something we would always uphold our employers are lucky people because we mean what we say.
sometimes it isn't the job that is boring anymore. sometimes it is another aspect of our life that lacks luster and needs sprucing up. not the job
good luck with your decision.

sometimes..but the advantage of working in contract period, you won't stay on one company for permanent period but on few month only and you can move to other company without any problem..plus the agency who find you the job and you doesn't have to do anything but just wait for the job! huhu! i don't have to go interview for any post i desire,i just go interview with the agency and they will find me the desired job! right now i am working with my desire job,the pay and environment are really good! i am quite happy here! i hope to continue work here until next year because it's so near with my home and have very flexible time work!

You said, your job is boring? how often? always, sometime. If it is sometime, I think that is a normal. At least you know you're job well. Look if you'll go to the new job, you don't know if all the staff around you does like you. The lenght of service, permanent, casual..multiple task, hard or easy, sick leave, bonus, holiday. A lot of things to consider, think it 10 times before doing that?
