I really love Diet Coke, not Coke but Diet Coke. It started as an alternative to too much sugar and now I'm hooked! I realise that it is not the healthiest substitute anyway but I can't help it! I actually prefer the taste to the 'real thing. What do you think of it? What do you like to drink?

Hmm, I know that softdrinks can make you be a bit chubby. Just try abstaining on softdrinks for at least 2 weeks and you'll see and feel a difference in your body. I cant force you if you dont want to since I know what its like to be hooked on Coke(the softdrink.LOL) I can finish a whole Liter of the thing when I was a kid and hooked on it. 1 Liter was actually not enough.tsk3
Anyway, these days when Im feeling thirsty or when I need a drink, believe it or not, I make myself a great cup of coffee. The hazelnut flavor from Nescafe and I add a small sachet's worth of chocolate powder.hehehe
However, when Im craving for a cool drink, I go for iced tea. Im really into it nowadays.

I must say I love my coffee too. It doesn't matter how hot it is I can still enjoy a good hot cup of caffeine, perhaps that is why I love Diet Coke! Thanks for responding!

HI paula, well, i prefer any kind of soda but the drink i look for if i'm thirsty is Coke, Pepsi or Sprite. i really love their taste well i drink them eventhough i still don't eat any but i slow down drinking them coz my doctor said i'm becoming too acidic. i'm contented now with water and fruit juices but really miss those softdrinks...huhuhu

I drink a lot of iced water. I don't know...it is good for you and good for the metabolism and quenches the thirst like nothing else. I don't drink soda's at all. On occasion, i'll drink a sugar free energy drink but that is rare. My biggest downfall is iced coffee....i'm an addict.

I can't drink the regular Mt Dew. It has to be diet. I can't stand the taste of regular soda anymore. Don't know why though.

Unfortunately for me I like the Real Thing....Coke. I started drinking Coke Zero a couple of weeks ago which is not bad, and I thought I would stick with it but I went to the sugary stuff a few days ago. I also love green tea which, when I drink it I do not crave the coke so much.

I prefer the taste of Diet Coke to the Real Thing and it's just as well because I drink way too much. Normal coke is so full of sugar! Green tea is good for you, I'm not keen on it myself; I think my body naturally rejects anything remotely healthy, it's just not used to it! Thanks lumenmom!

It is really difficult for me to feel thirsty. I always have a glass of water on my table. But that's just a habit. Most of time I don't really drink it. If I do feel thirsty, I think I will probably drink anything I can get and iced water will be perfect. ;p

hi paula,
I am from northern part of India and it's very hot here at this time of the year which makes people here very thirsty and constantly looking for something to drink.
The favorites are
1. Water of course.
2. Cold drinks and a lot of them.
3. Popular local drinks are Lassi (made by mixing Curd(yoghurt),milk, crushed ice,
lots of sugar)
4. Sugarcane juice mixed with lemon juice and some masala.
5. Buttermilk salted (very popular in rural areas)
6. Lemonade (only made in homes)

Hi Paula,
Lassi is such a greatly refreshing drink in the hot summers and very easy to prepare at home.
Get about three teaspoon of yoghurt, little milk to soften the citrusness of yoghurt, some crushed ice, little sugar and mix them all in a mixer for couple of minutes. Walla! ur Lassi is ready.
Tell u what another magic drink is Thandai.
Always welcome at my home for some cool refreshing delicious drinks.

I used to be absolutely ADDICTED to Mountain Dew, but I heard that if you cut pop out of your diet, then you can lose like 10 pounds in a month. So I am the type who will complain about her weight, but then do not much about it....So I tried that and it worked! Only, I kind of really enjoy pop. I switched to diet because less/no sugar yada yada....I love diet pepsi and diet coke. It depends though, I'll drink bottled diet pepsi or fountain diet coke. Does anyone do that or is that just me? I know lots of people who say there's a difference. I do try to choke down water a couple of times a week. I just hate it. I've tried it flavored, unflavored, carbonated uncarbonated. I've heard whiskey and water is good for you too, but I'm not so sure about that.

I make myself drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, I don't always like it but it has made a big difference to my skin. Diet coke has a very different taste to Coke and I prefer it, the fact that it's diet helps with weight maintenance. I believe whisky and water is 'good' for you but for different reasons! (lol)Thanks shoegrl!

The best drink to quench the thirst is plain water. No soft drink or any kind of fruit juice or squash will do what the plain water does.Of course we long for soft drinks or fruit juices .But it will not sufficiently quench our thirst .So I prefer only plain water .

Water is good for me. I have tried diet coke and cold drinks but they are now costly for me and I would like to drink a desi Indian drink that is called "Lussi". It looks like milkshake but it isn't.
it is made by shaking curd and adding sugar with ice blocks. Yummy!

HI Paula,
I have the ecperience of what thirst means. A real life experience. I had 500 and 1000 rupees note with me but I wouldnot get water for they had no changes as it was almost 9 in the evening. You believe me, I had to finally pick up an empty bottle from near a stall and fillinh it up with drops of water coming out in the rap in the vicinity and drank to quench my thirst.
It is water nothing else. Just give me pure water if i am thirsty.

We take the ability to obtain water whenever we like for granted.I'm glad you found something to quench your thirst, not a nice experience at all! I agree water is the cheapest the healthiest and the tastiest! Thanks rajib!

I used to drink alot of Mountain Dew all day everyday, but then I realized it was adding about 1000 calories to my daily diet. So i switched to DIET MOUNTIAN DEW! it actually has helped me to thin some pounds. I didn't like it too much at first but now I am in love with it. I can only drink like 1 can of the regular mountain dew now, and I cannot drink Real Pepsi at all. Diet is all I go for now. But its strange how the one thing that really quenches thirst has no real flavor....WATER!!!
