How do you promote your online shopping store?

For those who have an online store, where do you promote your store? Do you put links on your signature and facebook and all that, or do you do something extra? Would love to hear some opinions here as I have just opened a girly store and would like to see how I could promote it better. Thanks!

Word of mouth is still the best way to promote any store, I strongly believe in that. I suggest to hand out as many bussinesscards as possible and find places to just put down a couple. Hanging them in a local supermarket is not a bad idea either. Try to figure on which events people come who have an interest in your store. For example: my mom makes partywear so when I go out I wear the clothing and if I get compliments I allways give out our addy so more people will get to know about it.
