Hi Welcome to myLot. It totally depends on individual. Basically at this age the attraction is more towards opposite gender. And I think that if you are having a good relation with the opposite gender, as a friend, they can support you more, because the way they think will be different from you or your friend. This does not mean that you should have a affiar relationship, there can be a platonic relationship between a girl and a boy.

anyone can be a friend.its not about you your friends are?its about the strong bond or the relations between you and your friends.it can be any one as long as your friends,that friendship.there is no discremination in friendship as boys or girls.if there is discremination, its not a true friendship.
