Ever since the economy has taken a turn for the worst so has my marriage. My husband's job has had them cut back to four days a week(32hrs/wk) since January and it's really hurting our financial situation therefore affecting out home life. At first I tried to keep a positive outlook but as the bills keep piling up,I can no longer maintain a positive attitude. I myself am working 40hrs/wk but with the house payment and his enormous truck payment we can't keep up with everything else. Recently we have been fighting constantly about money and I'm getting really tired of it. I know that I'm not the only one in this situation so how have the rest of you maintained the sanity in your marriage? Thanks in advance.

My fiance and I are just getting ready for our marriage so we haven't been hit by the recession, especially since we are lucky to have his parents help us out. In any case, I think the best thing for you and your husband to do is to try to find things you can do to lower your bills. Combine bills if it at all possible (by that I mean get a company that has phone, internet and t.v. in a package), and lessen the grocery bill or eating out as much as possible as well. Talk to companies in which you pay your bills and see if they offer a plan to help you with paying your bills by say instead of paying the bill in full at the first of the month, or whenever you may pay it, pay it in increments through the entire month or six months / year , whatever plan they have available. Try to mylot some more as it does pay and can give you atleast $10.00 a month.
