giving up a job to pursue a dream

Well, maybe its a midlife crisis, but I am very tempted to give up my ( small, part time, unsatisfactory ) job to finally do what I always wanted and know I am good at: writing for a living! My mind is full of ideas and I have a bunch of short stories, articles, half written fiction novels, whatever....just sitting around and I feel that finally I need to try and pursue this dream of earning some money from writing. I know its hard, doesn't make you rich ( I 'm not after being rich, just want to feed myself) but whenever I tell people about my passion and growing urge I hear' oh, dream on', or ' it's wishful thinking'! I am 45 years of age and if I don't try now, when will I try? The worst that could happen is that I will ' fail' to make a living. ( thankfully I have a husband who pays the mortgage, God bless him) What's the general opinion ? Am I crazy? deluded? A daydreamer? Or will I end up regretting not trying??

It is normal that people to persue his/her dreams. However he/she shall think it carefully before he/she make the decision to give up his/her job.
