Hello again John, I learned to use Flash when I was in my eighth standard. I learned it by my own. The best guide is the guide provided by flash itself. The very basics like motion tween and shape tween should be thorough. Then the rest is easy. You just need to make some notes and revise it. It is really user friendly and you won't have much trouble with it. If you want to be a professional animator Maya and 3Dx Max is a good option. I am learning Maya now. It's a bit tough but really good.

I took flash animation at school for interactive web browsing for a course last year. The softwear I used was dream weaver and macromedia flash... I forgot what it was but we also used the program Swish. But the best software you can use that's really easy to make a flash website is wix.com It helped me make my myspace account's layout. There's a tutorial on there, there's no education needed for it. You just gotta know how to use a computer.
