How Can I Help A Person Who Has 26 Cats?

I have a relative who has 26 cats. She wants to find good homes for them but so far has had no luck. Her husband is disabled and did not notice that the cats were getting out of control. The local Humane Society told them that the cats would be euthanized if they were brought in. Her husband won't do that. He is mainly the one that doesn't want to give up the cats. So far, they have been able to get about half of the cats fixed. They are worried that they will get in trouble if it is made common knowledge they have so many cats. Are there any no-kill animal sanctuaries out there that might take some of the cats? They live in the Western States.
I cannot have more than one cat where I live, and yes, I have the one cat. I really want to help them out. Any suggestions?

sorry i not too sure how the rule like in your country about human society . but if you really need to re home them you can try to post it on net or forum to ask for help. but do remember when you re home them make sure the owner is really good in handle in cat.

Start pleading her case on all the different sites you can find. Many places have no
kill sanctuaries and there are many programs to get low cost or free neutering.
PM me which state she is in and I'll see if I can help.

I would also keep it quite because it could be considered a health hazard (no matter how clean they keep their home).
I would call around and ask for help with the cost of fixing the animals. You might also hit the wal mart parking lot if you have any kittens you may be able to give a few of them away like that.
Put an add on craig's list or the local paper. If you live near a farm or ranch area you may want to call the farmer or reancher and see if they need barn cats (the ranchers I know feed theirs in addition to letting them hint mice).
I know that you want to put them in shelters but right now with so many people dumping their pets because they cannot afford to feed them it may not be possible.
