Fighting Speeding Tickets

Has anyone ever tried to fight a speeding ticket. Most people who have told me they have said that the majority of the time the cop doesn't show up and you win the case by default. I didn't agree with my ticket and I know it a trial it's your word vs the cops word but what are the chances he won't show up? Most people tell me that cops almost never show up because it's not worth their time. What do you guys think?

Yes! One of my friends was caught speeding - going 55 on a 30, and my friend took it to court. Unfortunately for him, yes - the cop did show up, and my friends' "argument" fell flat. He ended up getting fined MUCH more than the ticket and had his license revoked for a month, I believe. I don't think it's worth it to fight it. I think you'll end up paying WAY more if you lose the case (and I'm pretty sure 99% of the time, judges side with cops), and you might as well just own up to it & pay the $150 (or however much it is) and be done with it. And plus? If you contact your county, they'll usually let you pay in installments if you can't afford to pay it all right away. But good luck with whatever you decide to do!
