So..My 2 yr old daughter had gotten ahold of a black pernament sharpie marker and decided it would fun to color on the back on my Spore game cd. Someone told me to use windex and someone told me to use nail polish remover. And stupid me didnt try the one that was less stronger and the stronger one out of the 2. Yup..you guessed it...nail polish remover. Well it got the sharpie marker off and now it wont play or install. lol. Did I ruin it? Or does it just need to be cleaned with family videos fancy CD cleaner machine?

Oh man! I am guessing it's a loss.... but I really am not sure. Did you try to play it without removing the marker? If it happens like that again, I would try that first. If it played (probably wouldn't - but might).. then it would be okay.
I don't know a lot about that, but I'm guessing that the fingernail polish was too much for it...

Well... i think its not functional already since the nail polish remover is so strong and you might scratch the cd already. You should have tried it first even if it has a marker. Anyways, you can charge that as an experience...Cheers! Happy mylotting!

Look at it on the back (where the marker was), with the light on from a LOT of different angles. Try to see if there are any scratches on the CD. I suggest trying to clean it first, as maybe it will work? But if it doesn't it's destroyed :(.
