haha Iamjerry, you sound as if this is the first time you been to the library. Over here in Singapore, national libraries are everywhere, there is one near my house, a smaller one with only 3 storeys. There is a bigger one a few minutes away by train, that one is really grand, with a cafe inside the library, so that you can drink coffee, eat puffs and read books at the same time. Many people go to the library to read newspaper and magazines, some go to use the internet. I love going to the library.

I agree. Me and my daughter (7) curl up on my bed daily reading seperate books for at minimum an hour. Her reading level is very advanced for her age. So we can discuss the books. (most of what she reads I have read in the past or will read not long after her or before her) My son (5) has never really wanted to read, he gets bored to easily. Recently he has been coming in with a book and sitting with us for 15 minutes at a time. My husband whom I have never seen read a book all the way through even the first chapter (we have been together for 9 years) has recently picked up a book, that though it is slow going he is reading steadily and now even he is curling up on the bed with us now and then. I am so happy now. My whole family is developing such healthy reading habits.

I absolutely agree! Reading is wonderful. I do not understand why people do not like to do it. I can pick up a book and go anywhere; explore another country or culture, learn much about any subject I desire, or jsut escape this hectic life and be involved in another for a few hours! The possibilities are endless!!
