Breast Prosthesis - Which one is best?

There are only two companies that I would recommend for women who need a breast prosthesis. As a mastectomy fitter I have found that Trulife Harmony and Silk prosthetics to be the softest breast prosthetics on the market. They closely resemble the soft texture of human skin. They are lightweight and durable. The other is Amoena. The Climate Control prosthesis has a liner that draws heat from the body. They too are soft.

I am fortunate not to need this info, but I think it's cool for you to share as there are so many that do. Thanks for posting.

Many people don't know that they have options. I have posted this so that people will know what is available.

I think that it's great for women to have choices and to have people such as yourself who are properly trained to ensure that they get the prosthesis that best suits their needs. If I were ever to need one, I would appreciate working with a professional person to make the choice rather than simply a salesperson. This is also a better option for many women than reconstructive surgery, as this carries the risk of tumor left behind the reconstruction.

Laurie, thank you for the great response. I posted this to make people aware of their options. They should know that they don't have to settle for just any kind of prosthesis. I agree with you on the reconstruction as well. But for also the reason that the implants can rupture. Huggers to you!

I have a friend who wears a prosthesis and she has the Harmony Silk. She has told me that it is really soft and supple. It is important for women who have to wear one to be comfortable with it.
