I'm hoping not- it seems every year we have a new scare of a "pandemic". Bird Flu, West Nile, now this....It just seems like every year we hear about a new superbug.
I am not undermining the severity of it, but just not ready to panic yet.

It looks that way yes.
Nature is taking control.
Funny thing is, with money you cannot buy your way out.
Money has no power in situations like this.
Kind of gets a person thinking doesn't it?
Take care, have a nice day.

Swine flu is put on alert level - 3 by WHO. Today it is raised to alert level 4. It may become a pandemic but not to the extent of SARS. Today world is more closer than before. People travel from every nook and corner of the world to other side of the planet. So spreading for swine flu is not an impossibility across the continents.

it will affect the world but pandemic's and new strains of disease's happen through a cycle last pandemic we had was 40 years ago.
Life is too short to worry about getting ill, aslong as you protect yourself with personal hygiene and dont cough on people or leave the house if you are ill the risks of catching it are minimal.
Look at the numbers that have caught the flu, they are tiny compared to the population head count in the various countries.
Also people die of normal flu so deaths are going to happen but they will be the old the weak and those with existing pre-conditions that weaken the immune system, I am in the danger group being ashmatic but it doesnt worry me at all.

Hiya Wadon30, After watching the news the last couple of nights it would seem that the people who caught it and came back to Scotland have only got it very mild so with any luck and I do feel sorry for the people who have lost their families to it I am hoping that it won't turn into a pandemic.

After being in the hotzone for the Hantavirus outbreak in the New Mexico/Arizona area back in 1993... I can honestly say this swine flu thought scares the beejeezus out of me.
