The importance of color coordination

I was actually wondering how important is color coordination to you when you go out your door. I don't have much of an extensive wardrobe so I can't really mix and match too much. I have a couple of pairs of shoes and a comfortable pair of sneakers and a belt. So is it very important to you that your clothes match or do you not have the time to coordinate in the mornings?

I'm not much for accessories unless I'm going to work (not much possibility of that anytime soon ) so I just make sure that my clothes are clean with no holes in them. I have solid shorts and pants and pants that go just to my knee so I can throw on just about anything and it'll look okay. I'd like to wear print pants and solid tops but I'm always spilling something on my top so that's not practical for me. I so like loud socks, though, when I wear something other than flip flops and since they are supposed to be loud I don't try to coordinate them with the rest of my clothes!

Thank you for your reply friend. I can see where you are coming from. I am not too much into accessories myself. I like to have my clothes clean and match somewhat accordingly but I don't go to too many extremes. I guess that it is just I am not a teenager anymore. I try to dress pretty conservatively and look presentable. I don't feel I need to impress the world with my clothing line. I don't really have much of a clothing line to begin with.lol! I don't wear loud socks. Just the tried and true white ones! They are comfortable and I guess if we are all comfortable with what we wear then that is all that matters.

Oh...my...goodness! I am the QUEEN of color coordination, ha! ha! :-) You know, it is so ironic that you ask this question. :-) Often times my mother asks me, "Does matching each and every color really matter that much?!" :-) To me, it is a necessity that my clothes match. :-) It kind of drives me a little insane when I cannot match the colors just right. It is at that moment that I am forced to go clothes shopping inorder to match my attire. :-) The most ironic thing about that last statement is that even though I have a "thing" for color coordination, I do not like to shop. Weird huh? Ha! Ha! :-)

Thanks LaSenyoraSilis. I can appreciate your point of view here. Queen of color. Well I can't say I have ever heard that statement before but there is a first time for everything! To some people it seems to matter that clothes match before they go out the door as if all eyes are going to be on them. I can see where wearing the same two shoes would matter a lot but as far as colors I do try to match to a degree with what I have in my wardrobe. You say that you don't like shopping too much. Well I like to go clothes shopping when I have the money it is just that I haven't been able to in a while. Take care friend and good luck to you here at myLot.

I could careless when going to work. As I work in a factory and I get really dirty with ink and Adhesive or glue. But now that I'm laid off I wear my good jeans and a nice shirt or sweater and I'm good. As long as they match that is ok. You have a great day.

Thanks for the reply onlydia. Good to hear from you once again. I can see where you wouldn't mind too much what you wear to work seeing that you are working in a business where you tend to get dirty. That does sound like dirty work! Ink and adhesive. That sounds like it would ruin your clothes for sure if you are not careful. Sorry to hear that you are laid off. I wish you luck in the future with finding a job. Some people care about their clothes matching and some don't. I don't have an extensive wardrobe but the things I have I seem to be able to coordinate to some degree. Take care.

I have certain shoes for certain outfits, but I don't have them in all the colors out there necessarily. In the winter I alternate between boots, and as soon as the weather is warm I'm for the most part in sandals. I do try to coordinate things, but I wouldn't say it's all about being a solid color either or you know, those outfits that look like they came out of Barbie's perfect world. I tend to be a bit eccenctric so I I'm the type to wear yellow and red together just because. Namaste-Anora

Thanks for responding Anora. I can understand where you would want to wear sandals during the summer time. I feel comfortable in sneakers though just about any time of the year. Where I live I don't really have the need too much for winter boots because we don't get hit much with snow in Alabama. I have a couple pairs of nice dress shoes but as far as alternating them with dress clothes I really can't because I need a whole new wardrobe to begin with! It is good that you have your own style and stick with it. Everyone has their different styles and tastes. Take care my friend.

Well i don't really have to rush out the door most of the time and i have time to pick out some outfits that match and color coordinate my clothes. I will not go outside not matching because while even driving i see people i know and even going into the grocery store i know people that work there and i don't want people seeing me with a dirty outfit on or something that doesn't match and most people know if i don't match then something would seriously be wrong with me. I love to always look cute and looking cute you have to match clothes and be perfect. I am a clothes fanatic and have a lot of shirts and not to many bottoms but i can wear different shirts a lot with the same bottom and i am doing good i feel. Enjoy Mylotting

Thank you for replying. I can certainly appreciate where you are coming from. I like to look half decent before I walk out the door. I might not have a lot of clothing in my wardrobe but I like to keep things clean. Keeping clothes clean and smelling fresh is important and it might be more so than keeping the colors coordinated. I just try to use my discretion and good judgment when picking what I am going to wear. I am in no sense a clothes horse but eventually I will be able to buy some more colorful clothes that I could possible mix and match. That sounds like a good idea you have about matching up a good deal of shirts with the bottoms.

Hello bamakelly, I don't go out of the door without taking a shower, and wearing comfortable outfits. Color coordination is really important to me. I like wearing pastel colors during summer, I like orange top paired with white shorts. I like the combination of light and dark colors. They compliment each other. I sometimes need to hurry too, but as I have said, I need to have my bath first, then get my most comfortable clothes when I am in a rush. I like shoes too. I have red, black, yellow, brown, gray, etc., it all depends on the color of my bags. I don't splurge much though, I just make sure they are well-kept, so they last longer. Have a great day! Weng

I don't attach much importance to color coordination, only that I make sure that the colors do not clash. That is, not wear purple with yellows or greens. I usually go for neutral and easy colors, such as black, white and grey, which are easier to match.

As long as the cloths you wear loot good together and things like shoes match and socks match you are ok. If you wear one brown and one black shoe that's not to good. When I work I wear mostly black with just a little color. This allows me to have a limited wardrobe which is all I can afford.

I like my clothes to go together, but they don't have to match. I.e. I don't always wear a black shirt with black shoes. I think a hint of color, or pattern, can really make you look great. So, I'm all for mix and match. As long as it's not two colors that clash, or two different patterns, because that never looks nice. Furthermore, if you don't have time in the morning, jut try to pick your clothes out before you do to bed. I tend to do that more.

On our current fashion trend, several rays of colors was mixed, elaborated, and defined by our fashion designers. Observably, it flourished and bloomed into a great demand and eventually great prophet. This example however, speaks that correct blending or coordination of colors is important, and that it plays a great role to which prophet and success is at stake.

in my opinion if one goes for the basic black in anything then buy other pieces of clothing in her color palette and jewelry for her skin tone this is a no-brainer for color coordination for one can just throw on these things and walk out of the door, literally.

Color coordination for me is very important specially going outdoor. Dressing up is one of the things that makes me happy. I make sure that at least my belt and my shoes matches, or the color of my earing and my shirt has at least color coordinated same thing with my bag. For as long as there are the same color in my dress, shoes, bags, slipper, pony tail, shirts, that is fine. This makes me happy already,,, weird but for me its worth satisfying and making my day complete..:-)

I have exactly one pair of shoes, so I don't worry about colour coordination so much.

Color coordination has always been important to me when dressing. I have 13 pairs of colored moccasins so that I aways have a match to my tops when wearing jeans. That is just for casual wear when I am going somewhere special I am even more picky about coordination

Dressing is all about comfort! I dress accordingly to my mood, there are days I wish I could be naked, I want nothing tide, I want to look good. Then my tank dresses come handy, some others I feel that my favorite jeans and my favorite T-Shirt and sandals do the trick. I will have a problem if I have to get to work every day, because then you have a dressing code you need to follow, I think in that case I will have to impose on me kind of an uniform, according to how I feel. OH, God and if a real uniform where required? Disaster! I only stress out on my dressing when I have to assist to a party with a dressing required.

While not a slave to fashion, I do like my colours to match !Even dowm to the not visible underwear. Matching colours creates an overall harmonious look which also makes me feel more harmonious in a way. This , incidentally, transfers into the home where I think colours are very important, and even when looking from one room into another through an open door it is important ( for me) to ' feel' a sense of continuation and harmony. So ' feelings' and ' colours' seem to go together, and we all know different colours create different moods. In fact , its much like a well composed piece of music which can be uplifting, melancholic, sad..but all the notes go together to create a whole. So again, its not about fashion and the latest trends in colour ( if ever 'grey' becomes the latest in beach fashion count me out ), it's about individual creativity and expression. I crave a harmonious life ( but not boring), and that is reflected in what colours I wear.

I have heard there are two types of folks in this world. First one is really very attentive and responsible one they are puntuctual, take everything seriously, get up early in the morning and everything in a routine. On the other hand the second one is totally opposite to first one. They awake just 10 minutes before going somewhere, go to wash room, wash their faces, do comb and put on whatever they have got. They take nohting seriously. Interesting this is that second type of people are more lively and enjoying theirs lives.

At first I also didnt have an extensive wardrobe in what regards to colours but after a while I ended up with one. If for example a few years ago I was more into certain colours, now I have been introducing a variety of colours in the wardrobe. I got fed up of seeing the same colours. For me mix and match is really important especially when you combine accessories with the clothes I wear. I am not a fashion addict, I cannot follow the fashion of the moment because I think that one should wear what it suits best on one self and not the fashion of the moment but then if I can grab something which is in fashion, its good but the best thing is to wear what you are confortable in and what suits you most. But mix and match is important especially speaking of summer clothes. One can find extremely nice colours!Speaking of summer, what type of clothes you all prefer, summer or winter??
