I agree that alot of people become lazy because of the computers and you can count me in, lol. Sometimes when I'm front of computer I can even forget the time or things that I have to do. I wouldn't say that I am so addicted in internet or computer, but I can be sometimes. I even burnt two pots here, because I was in the computer, one is with rice and the other is boiling water. Now I make sure to logged off in any activities I am doing when I'm about to do cooking, lol.

Tell to your hubby to not rub salt on your wounds, because cleaning those burned things is already a pain. And yes an extra careful will be good thing.

Hi!Riya! You are right upto an extent that computers has affected our lives and has made us lazy in the sense that physical activities has reduced due to involvement in computeres/net/mobiles. I fear that this is going to adversaly make on impact on our health in the long run. Your cousin should deliberately indulge in some physical activities so as to keep her fit and healthy.

I think that a lot of people are becoming lazy from computers, but I think a good bit of that is by choice. I think you can choose to keep from becoming lazy, if you want to. It's not difficult to get up and at least walk around your house and do household chores, even if you don't go outside.

she should of been at your mil's house. she probably wouldn't have put up w/ her laziness. you sure shouldn't have had to put her w/it. your husband should have told his mother. u are too good for your own good, lady. hope she doesn't come back. lol

Yes, I admit that I become lazy when I get a computer, on the weekend I just stay at home and play my computer, and want to do nothing, I know this is not good, even I don't want to have meal, just eat some bread or cookies.SO I want to get rid of this bad habit.

I think that having a Computer can help a person become Lazy and Gain more weight because especially when you are online, or playing a game from your computer you are less likely to go do something else as well. I think sometimes it becomes an escape and a replacement for something else as well. But at the the same time for many yrs. people have been this way with watching TV as well, so for most it is learning a sense of Balance for sure.

Nah, it's only YOU Mable! lol. Seriously though, we're definitely becoming less active because of technology in general, not just computers! We're also so reliant on our PC's for communications these days that it's hard to imagine NOT having one anymore. I use my own for phone calls, letters through email, online text and video chat with family etc..... It's completely replaced the more personal and hands-on forms of communication and it's only going to get worse! (Or better, depending on how you see it!) And that's just communication. Movies, music, e-books, banking, bill paying, shopping..... We could pretty much take care of our entire existence on a computer these days and never leave the house again.

hello riyasam! i think computers really do promote laziness. ^^;; i, myself get lazy a lot of times when i'm in front of my computer. i'm just addicted to it and the internet and i tend to ignore my chores a lot of times. i think its the same case for a lot of people. computer and internet addiction is really troublesome. i think this is where the challenge on self-discipline comes in. one has to have a strong self-discipline to be able to balance her or his time for work, chores, and leisure such as the internet. but i guess if a person's works involve using the computer and the internet, then that person has an excuse to stay in front of the computer for a long time. still, the person shouldn't forget to do his or her chores and errands. (i should be telling this to myself. LOL)

Hello riyasam, People tend to spend more time online now and I think it is not a good habit too unless your work is related to computer. When you spend a lot of time alone in the room, with your computer; you tend to forget about other important things in your life like your other hobbies, your friends and family and etc. I don't know how a person can just be in front of the computer 24-7 and never get bored. Of course if your job is related to computer and IT, that is different!

haha, yeah I agree! All I ever do is go on my computer. It takes so much for me to have the motivation to do anything else with my spare time! I'm going to make a realy big effort this summer though to go camping and kayaking over nice weekends just to make myself stay away from the computer. I've noticed myself piling on the pounds recently too. Thats just no good!

It is not they are becoming lazy... They are hooked to the computer and the addiction is too much to conquer. Once the computer is on, I too am glued to the computer and can sit for hours. I know very well this is not healthy but... I try not to get in front of the computer when I am home.

yes...some people have become lazy and computers are their excuse. Your cousin sounds like one of those people. I don't think she became lazy BECAUSE of computers. I tend to think she is maybe just a lazy person and that is what she does. If not for computers, she'd probably be watching a lot of tv or some other idle activity. I'm pretty old and I love the computer but I still work full time...on my feet 10 hours a nite & I keep my home clean and I excersise and well...I'm very active despite my love of this technology. So are you, I bet. I don't blame the computer...I think it is a personality defect.

One of my friend is exactly the same as your cousin. She turns on the computer the moment she gets home after work every day.She stayed the whole night up just for reading a novel online last night!I cant stand that. She never likes other activities. As for me,I have nowhere to go after work ,so I spend a lot of time in front of computer.I always want to read more printed books and do more outdoor activities.Computers do make people lazier.

I don't think so. I think i do not become lazy. I use my computer only when i need it to finish my jobs, that's all. Even, i do not have any installed game on my pc. I dont like playing game..my pc just to finish my job and browse the internet (and play multimedia)
