Anyone have any issues with germs? Are you afraid of germs when you are out in public? Or even in your own home? I dont really consider myself afraid of germs but I watch or listen for people who have infections or whatever. We have had issues in our house with staph infections so I tend to go around the house every night and spray bleach water around the house on things we touch alot throughout the day....doorknobs, walls, tubs, toilets, faucets, switches, etc. A few neighbors of mine have had the staph infections and when I know they have them I will spray the outside of my door and the knob if they have come over recently. Call me crazy but I am trying to avoid the contamination as much as possible. I had a cousin of mine in a different state that had an infection in her tooth and they pulled it but it got more infected and got into her bloodstream and she ended up dying from it so I keep an eye out for stuff like that. Well just wondering.........

I try not to let it bother me that much. I know that you can catch a lot of things from coming into contact with different things and people. The reason why I try not to think about it that much is because, if I did I'd be afraid to touch anything. I don't want to become one of them people that you see using a napkin to touch everything. To me unless something is sealed airtight its going to have some germs on it no matter what you do.

I agree. I dont really worry too much I have just made some habits, like the spraying of things with bleach, just as a precautionary measure. I try not to think about it alot because if I did it would drive me NUTS!! With 4 kids there are probably a TON of germs that come in and out of my house daily. Id have to lock us all inside forever. lol and that may end up driving me even more crazy.

Your right, that's how I feel, you also wouldn't ever handle any money anymore ether. Just think about how many people has handle a piece of money before it was passed on to you.

Not really, I tend to clean my house well, though when I go out I tend to ignore what is around on the floor, I also do not mind the pollution levels. Teeth infections when I get them tend to occur when I use mainstream toothpaste brands, and therefore I get the aloe vera toothpaste.

I too am trying to be more cautious with things. As about 2 yrs ago I got Staph. How I got it was anyones guess.... I've been a SAHM for a few yrs and I was the lucky one to get it & the only one. I noticed this zit on my face was just odd, never came to a "head" and was growing in size by leaps and bounds within hours & I thought WTH is that? That doesn't seem right for a zit I'm calling the Dr & sure enough. Thank goodness for GREAT INSURANCE so I didn't have to hesitate in being seen by the Dr. Hubby came down with shingles and pink eye at the same time other than home and running errands like we all do the only place he could of caught them was work. So I'm always trying to get him to wash his hands ect and do things with a bit more caution. As one can't go to his work @ a factory and spray lysol on the machinery they'd think you were nuts *lol* Plus as you know having kids especially ones in school are absolute germ magnets. I've got my oldest especially on a stringent hand washing when she gets home from school. I'm tired of her bringing colds home.

I am a huge germ freak. I dont know what made me this way but thats how I am. I want sit on toilets if i feel they are not clean enough. I dont like my food touching counters it has to be on a plate or papertowel. If a sponge has been used for too long according to my liken then it no longer can clean dishes appropriately. If food has been in the refrigerator too long its no good. If a cereal box has been open for too long its not good. THats just some of the precautions I take.

Hmm.. I know of people (especially women) who get paranoid about germs, and although I admire their determination to keep their homes totally germ-free, I think some degree of germs and bacteria will remain here and there, including on our bodies. It is for our immune system to ward them off. By letting the sprays and disinfectants do the work of the immune system, I think I might be weakening my system, instead of strengthening it. I do understand if there have been instance of staph, then adequate measures must be taken.. just like they do in the hospital about cleaning/washing hands, etc. but there have been instances of people contracting infection despite all the safety measures in place. So, personally, I wouldn't go overboard or I'd turn into a hypochondriac.

I am kind of afraid of germs. I know it is not possible to avoid them, but some of the people I have been around in my life have made me afraid. I cannot tell you how many times a day I go to the restroom at work and see someone walk out of the restroom without washing their hands. I have seen cashiers at restaurants take my money and then go and touch food without washing their hands or putting gloves on them. I always see people cough, sneeze, or wipe their nose and then touch a common object. I blame the people in the world who have bad habits on my fear of germs!
