The Alchemist can be considered as the best work of fiction in recent times. One of the best selling books in history it is written by Portugese author Paulo Coelho. Hailed as a modern classic, it follows Santiago, an young shepheard in a journey to fulfill his personel legend.
It urges everyone to follow their personel legend ie their dream on themselves, to believe in ourselves, to dream big, to have confidence. The story actually can be calledas a collecrtion of rich ideas, explained in asimple manner, in a brilliant type of narration. Don't miss it.

a book that i just finished that you may want to take out of the library is '501 best writers of all time'. it gives you a short synopsis of the best works of each writers and though i barely read fiction, i found it a very good book. (it was printed last year, so this author may be in it!)
