I had started a discussion a month ago that I was quiting smoking . Alot of mylot pals wanted me to come back to let everyone know how it's going so here I am ! It has been 32 days , 19 hours , 8 minutes, and 28 seconds since I have smoked a cigarettte. Cigarettes not smoked is 656 Life Time Saved is 5 Days Money saved is around $98.00 About 3 or 4 days into it I stopped all my coughing. It hasn't always been easy . One of the mylot pals gave me the best advice She told me to put a tooth brush in my mouth when I craved a smoke and I think that has made a big difference in my quitting. Anywho I just wanted to let people know that I'm doing fine and dandy without cigarettes and I don't know if I could have done it without all of you.. .so thank you all so much !

You are doing so great! I am a smoker and I know the strength of the addiction. I have cut back drastically in the past month and even that has been a real struggle. Success stories like yours will be an inspiration when I finally take that big step to actually quit for good. I hope to keep reading on your continued success!

thanx for the tips! hopefully, I'll be on here soon writing my own success story. don't hold your breath for that one....I have quit and gone back so many times. Never gone cold turkey tho which is the toughest but from what I hear...most lasting.

Hi sid , Cutting back is good . I had to just quit cold turkey or not at all. . When you do decide, check out quitnet , or other websites , there are some good ones. Thanks for responding and maybe I will post again in another month how it's going !

hi beachstarz, my dear friend, i am really very very happy for you and i am truely saying this. i always wanted my father to stop smoking but he didnt. he tries it for a day or two but then comes back to the same thing. i just wanted him very desperately that he stops it anyhow. i am so hapy to hear that at least one friend from mylot has atleast tried for it and succeded also in it. i just hope some good friend give some good advice to my father also and he also stops. if he stops, i will be the happiest person on earth and i will give a huge party for it. and i really mean it.

I am jealous of you!!! good for you. I know what an accomplishment this is. It is not easy. I don't think many smokers enjoy smoking. I like the toothbrush idea. I might try it. My husband and I spend about $75 a week on smoking. I do want to end this and become healthier. thanks for sharing your experience. sounds like you have made it!!!

Wow that is an achievement already. You have broken the 21 days barrier already. they say that to break a habit you should have at least reach 21 days not doing that habit before that becomes permanent in your system. I guess you have to pat yourself from achieving that. Although for sure the temptation is still there but I guess you'll overcome that if you are really determined not to smoke again. Keep it up!!!

a round of applouse for a person like you beachstarz. it is really not easy to quit something like smoking. it is a hard habit to break. i dont have vices the only vice i have is eating har har. but i have some friends who smoke and now are just like you who quit and now no longer smoke for 5 years or more. i am sure they have saved a lot of cash as well. one of my friend even said that he needs to make sure he was really busy to forget about the urge to smoke. or he jogs or run of the desire ti smoke. i will remember that putting toothbrush so i can advice people who want to stop. congrats again and goodluck

Hi se7enthbird, It really has not been all that hard . I have some tough times, like when things seem to go wrong and I get upset , I tend to want a smoke . That's when I reach for my toothbrush , or get a glass of water . it really helps . Thank you for the support and response .Have a good day today!

THAT IS AWESOME! I know that smokers can quit if they really WANT to. There are so many smokers who keep on giving excuses that non-smokers wouldn't understand or things like that - that it's an addiction that they can't control. But people like you show us that it's perfectly possible if you WANT it and if you want it for YOURSELF. You're a great example! I hope you go all the way :) Clean living is one of the greatest gift you can give to yourself and to you future relationships - especially to your (future) children. Thanks for the response on my discussion :)
