Hi Chores, Sherlock Holmes was one of the first detectives I read about, and I love his stories. I have collections of his stories, and have never tire of reading them over and over again!

I like the Adventure of the Speckled Band, and the Dancing Men. Other detective stories that I enjoy are from authors like Jeffrey Deaver. His leading character, Lincoln Rhymes, is just as intuitive as Holmes; and he has a great mind, despite that he's a quadriplegic. Other authors that I like are Ed McBain, Ruth Rendell, Martha Grimes, Lawrence Block, Anne Perry and Lawrence Sanders.

I have read all of the stories featuring Sherlock Holmes. I am not a raving fan but I think the stories are believable. They stimulate the mind and this was the main reason I became an avid reader of the series. It is rather unfortunate that the author stopped writing more stories around the character he created/

I remember reading something Doyle's take on his Holmes stories. He wrote in one of the prefaces to the books that he eventually got tired of writing about Holmes, and he wanted to pursue some other angles on literature. In fact, Doyle had intended that The Final Solution be the last story, until reaction from the fans prompted him to bring back the character.

There some of my favorite stories. I just picked up Volume II of the collected works, so I'm looking forward to rereading some of the later Holmes adventures. There interesting for a lot of reasons, and the methods by which Holmes manages to come to a solution are always interesting and thought provoking.

I haven't read a lot of Sherlock Holmes stories, but I plan on reading more, and the ones that I've read so far, I've really enjoyed. I find that Sherlock Holmes is a really interesting detective, which is why I want to read more stories with this detective in it. They're very interesting stories, worth reading in my opinion.

Yes I am! and I love detective stories. It's my favorite type of fiction! I prefer the more classic ones though, and I don't really read the contemporary ones. It's either Sherlock Holmes, or Agatha Christie's Pierrot for me.

I love Sherlock Holmes too. I like the way he disguises and catches hold of the culprits. Sometimes the descriptions provided by Watson is very impressive and deepens the adoration towards Holmes. Regards, AJ
