Sport is good or bad to health?

It is siad that sport is the source of life. most of people always think that sport is totally good to health,but when i was in high school,i had a classmate who is shorter than someone in his age,and he was told that he take so much sport that his body was influenced by it , and still now his height did not change. so I think that sport is not universal, people should realize it. what do you think about it?

yes,that sport is the source of life,sport is good for our health.everybody know it.but i think if you heavy sport,it is not good for your health,so we should pay attention to sport just suitable for ourself body.

sport is good for your health as long as you don't overdo it..With regards to the height of your classmate,I think it is mostly hereditary in nature and not about the sport one played.

I'm not quite sure about this, I was always told that sport is really good for health. Sports can make you healthy, slim.... so much benefits, I think sports is good for health, if we do sports everyday, it can make us more healthy, and feel activity, I do sports everyday, the main reason is that I want to lose weight.

Well,nobody can deny that sport is benifit to health but just what you do,something good must contain bad.Yes,strenuous and over exercise may hurt yourself.

This is a very interesting topic. I have wondered about this myself. I have never been a sports person, but I have two sons now and my husband was always big into sports as a child. I hear about so many sports injuries and now you see a lot of doctors who cater to the sports medicine industry. You have also heard about the kids driven hard who "throw out" their elbows or arms when they are in their early 20's. I think that it can be good in moderation and can really help build team building skills. Everything in moderation is the key to every thing ;)

Sports is really good for your health. It will help you to refresh your mind as well.
I do not believe sports caused your friend to be shorten. I personally feel bit taller than my brothers just because of the basketball and volleyball i played. I hardly heard sports person getting sick compared to the normal one who doesn't favour sports.

I don't think your classmate's height has a relationship with the sports. If he doesn't do the sports like weightlifting etc. all the time, it won't be a bad effect on his height. On the contrary, the people who often play basketball are usually taller. So I think sports is good for health.

Playing sports can be very beneficial to health most especially to people who don't have pre-existing condition.. if you have heart problems and other diseases, it's best if you consult with your doctor first about it.. don't go to strenuous training/sports or exercises if you have ailment or something.. brisk walking is good but don't stress yourself too much..

To make a sport, can be good,but can be bad too.
Years ago, when i was student, one from our teacher, show us some bones, and he say to us, that this bones was from a performace sport man who maked gym in national team, so very hight level. All bones was affected, because a very big effort. So, sport is good, but not very much, just to help in heart problems, muscles, breath, but not a very big effort. This can affect all body.
So many sportman have a lot of problems after they stop to make a sport, theirs heart will suffer a lot. Theirs body have bad influence by it.
So, 2,3 hours in a week to swimm or gym, is ok...but not to much, becouse will be very bad for body.
You right, sport is not universal, for this some peoples can suffer a lot after, they quit. is not totaly good.

Sport is good for health. Not completely though. Sometimes sports brings injuries. One of my friends who had qualified in the entrances of Defence Medicine(AFMC)got hi leg fractured and was not qualified for the interview. All his one year was wasted.
Sports will defenitely be good for people good for it. Those who are not very professional should play according to their capacity only.
