maybe I will suggest u to read and try to understand the lesson that u have already study today. so, when your exam coming u will not have difficulties in memorize it again. because u have understand it before, u just need to repeat it. i think it will be much easy memorize something that we have already understand before rather than memorizing something that we never know before

I will suggest you that whenever you are studying try to relate it with something that you can remember. While studying study the examples because it might be the case that you have forgotten the thing you have studied but you remember the example then from the example you can try to remember what was the actual think. Talking about relating your study with real world, I think when you are studying always think that is there any thing in the real world with which you can relate the thing you are studying. For example suppose you are reading about the memory allocation of computer then you can relate it with room allocation in your hostel and then remember the text.

For me, the best way of memorizing things is to understand what your trying to memorize. Its much easier..its like, knowing someone by name. Like your classmates, you memorize all of their names because you got to know them by person. Something like that. Its hard to memorize things just for the sake of memorizing it.

Depends on the amount of things you need to memorize...if its a lot then you should start memorizing two days before the exam. Depends on how much you could memorize.

Hi Sambilay, Memorization is not a great way to learn, by the way. You can retain most information by reading it 7 times. That means that you have to take notes in class and on the text. Then you read your notes 7 times the night before the exam, and you pass. It seems crazy, but I learned it in a college class called Learning and Memory, and it worked. College was much easier. Another thing that helps most people is to read it aloud. Then you are hearing it and seeing it. The input comes in two ways instead of one. I assume that you are already making sure to eliminate distractions and that you don't study in bed. Oh, and you retain the stuff at the beginning and the end better, so short (walk around the house/floor once) breaks are good also.

Now I feel that understanding is the best way to memorise. Try to understand and jot down what you understand.

I used a few ways to memorize what I read while studying. 1 - Short note and colors : My teacher advised me to use different color while making notes. She said colors can help me memorize notes better. So, I make short notes of books that I read and write the notes if different pens; red, blue, black, green, whatever. It does help. 2 - Relate : When try remembering formula, I'll try to relate it with something or make funny sentence using the first word in each of it. This one work the most. 3 - For math, it require a lot of practice. There's no other way that I can think of for that.

I have a pretty wicked memory problem. I memorize things through trauma or repetition.
