i don't give any cent to this man i always meet just few blocks from us. he make himself stinky every afternoon so that people that will pass by throw some coins in his feet. i saw him once in a mall, very tidy and i was shocked when i see him there at the end of the blocked looking dirty and smelly. i think it's his sideline. that guy is so disgusting!

I know what you meant. I used to pass that kind of guy when I worked in town before. Back then, I used bus to commute and there he was. Waiting everyday and come to whoever passed by with the same story. He said he is an orphan, need some money for bus fares and he's penniless. It would work if I didn't ride the same bus everyday. I probably gave him some money. He's not so dirty looking and smelly. He even change his shirt! I felt disgusted after a while and try to avoid him afterward.

Yes, he sounds like a very sneaky man! It sounds like he's trying to trick people into thinking that he needs money. If he really needs money, he should go get a job or post on mylot and make a few cents here and there. It's better than begging. I used to live in Ottawa, Ontario. I had never lived in the city before so it was a new experience for me to see people begging for money. I never give out free money. There were people who were also selling little things and I'd buy something from them even if it wasn't something I'd normally buy. At least they aren't begging for money. They are working for it.

First time I've heard a story like this. I suppose it could happen though. There are some very dishonest people out there. He must be making good money doing it. Maybe I'll give it a try. Ha. Yeah right. In a town of 600 people, I doubt it would do any good.
