using alertpay -- for receiving money, the
person or company sending the money would
simply use my login email address, right ?
i.e. the email address i used to join
is also my receive payments address, right ?
i just need to be assured i don't do it wrong.

Hello.
Yes, the only thing anyone need to send you some money via alertpay is your alertpay address.
So if someone ask you your alertpay password too, DO NOT give them. This could seems a stupid thing to say, but you don't know how many people make this mistake.

To send you a payment anyone needs only your email address, the one you used to join alertpay.
And please keep in mind this: NEVER use the password you used for your email for anything else.
NEVER use a password you already use for anything else as password for money related sites, like bank, alertpay, paypal, etc etc.

Using a same email address on some site is no problem. But please make sure do not use a same password for those site eventhough you are using a same email address. On some case, if the admin is naughty, he usually try to match your email and password on some payment processor such as paypal, alertpay, etc. It's possibly for losing money.
