Whenever you don't feel like going to work, what excuses do you usually make?
Me, I call the office and tell them that I'm sick. This usually work. But after a while I really do get sick. Talk about fast karma. LOL

When I am too lazy to go to our main office (2 hours drive), I would advise my boss that I am on official business. I try to make one appointment that day will last around 30 minutes meeting/presentation and I just go home afterwards and enjoy the rest of the day.

Hmm? This is like excusing yourself to go to work due to long travel time but then going to work on official business with shorter travel time. I guess this is OK. Cheers!

When I was working I almost never called off...there was once I even went in when I was dog sick with the flu and had been on the couch puking up until about half an hour before I had to be at work. I tried to have someone fill in for me but couldn't get a hold of anyone so I had to go in because I didn't like calling off. I was sent home about 19 minutes after i got there and they saw how sick i really was so it worked out but the drive still sucked.
I have heard people use some of the dumbest excuses well not really dumbest but well they(the person) is the dumbest. Someone once called to say they broke their leg and couldn't come in because they were at the hospital getting a cast put on but yet came in the next day with absolutely nothing wrong and had no cast. I have also heard a bunch of people use the excuse that someone in their family had passed say an uncle and then a few days later talk about how they were over at their house or something. And you ask I thought they had passed and they always say Oh no my other uncle Jussylou..what you have two uncles named JussyLou? You would think they could at least come up with something better than a family member passing. I am not a big fan on Karma but I wouldn't want to take that risk either way.

When i had still job, my excuses was normally like my mother has to visit me and nobody will going to entertain her at home or sometimes i have an unexpected relative coming in my house from province so i need to fetch in the bus terminal or in the harbor. If in the morning i f feel not going to work or i am not feeling well even if it is tolerable i just call to the office and tell that i have stomached and might come to the office when pain will go down.

For work here most of the time my excuse is like yours - I'm sick and it works great. Though there have been times were its easier for me to get out of a class or something because I'll have a big article I'm covering and even though I might not need the time I'll tell me teacher I'm preparing to interview the mayor and he'll be completely fine with it.
Other great ones I've used was I'm taking my friend to the emergency room she's having a really bad allergic reactions or I went home for the weekend because of some personal family issues - thankfully for me I'm in college so those things work out great.
