I find myself eating a lot of shrimp lately. I ordered some spicy mongolian shrimp today from a chinese restaurant. I absolutely love shrimp. Not only are they delicious but they have a lot of health benefits and are rich in nutrients. Shrimp are an excellent source of protein, vitamin D, vitamin B12, selenium, iron, phosphorus, omega-3 fatty acid, niacin, zinc, copper, and magnesium. Do you eat shrimp?

yup. love them. try the spicy shrimp in coconut milk, that's my favorite dish so far. very delicious if you love seafoods, spicy food, and no aversion to coconut milk. :) i just know that shrimp is rich in protein and as a seafood, perhaps the omega-3... but i stop at those. i just know they taste good. but we shouldn't eat a lot coz it's also high in cholesterol. :)

Shrimp is one of the few seafoods I eat, I tend to avoid seafood because of the fishy smell, but unlike other seafood Shrimp tastes and smells good after being cooked even without condiments and seasonings.
But again it really depends on what shrimp you're dealing with, the tastiest ones I have eaten are prawns, in my homeland prawns are a big business even if it costs 6$ a kilo people still buy them and flock to markets for them. The next in line is the river shrimps e.g Macrobrachiums or river prawns, they are as big as prawns or may be bigger but taste less delicious, they are the poor man's prawn.
And lastly what we call bait shrimps, these little boogies live in rivers and estuaries, they are like krill. People use them for a lot of delicacies like shrimp paste, shrimp omelets and a lot more.
MY favorite dish for shrimp is carameled shrimp, butter, garlic and red sugar with a dash of salt for balance and roundness. Add some shallots for aroma and viola! You have a sumptuous dinner :)

Yup, shrimp is nice - I like it spicy, cooked in chilli paste with chopped garlic, or cooked in curry gravy. It's good, if fried with eggs (omelets) or with fried rice.

There's no denying that shrimp are delicious and healthy--especially if you can get them fresh.
At the same time, however, you should be aware of the damage that industrial fishing/shrimp harvesting operations are doing to the coastal environment. Pretty much any shrimp you buy at a restaurant or grocery store is likely to come from massive offshore shrimp farms, that is devastating that environment for many other species.
You might still find local fishermen who can bring you fresh shrimp or sell it to local restaurants, but I would ask people to consider the long-term health of the marine environment for future generations when deciding whether or not to support shrimp harvesting with your wallet.
Information on this is abundant for those who want to know more, but you might start, for instance, at http://www.foodfirst.org/en/node/54.

I LOVE shrimp! Unfortunately though I haven't found a way to prepare it at home that I like as much as in restaurants. I'm still working on that. haha Shrimp and well seafood in general are very good for you. So loving shrimp is definitely a good thing!
