Swine Flu

I live in Belize and today on the news the said that they have found 4 persons with is believed to have the swine flu because their symptoms fits perfectly with the symptoms of the swine flu. I was wondering if a person goes for a flu shot will they be out of harm because the flu shot will prevent them to catch a cold?

From what I understand, the flu shot will not help. I know that here in the States, they are working on a vaccine, but that coiuld take a few months. Right now, they are saying to take tamiflu if you get it.
