Hi mylotters, just want to know who is Deep Purple's vocalist you like most? Rod Evans, Ian Gillan or David Coverdale? Please share your comments.
Me personally, love them all, but I have to say that Coverdale should be considered the most powerful one, even until now. My last DP's concert was in 2006, and it was not outstanding. No Jon Lord, and Gillan was not as good as he was..I guess he's getting old.

My favourite is David Coverdale. I must say that Ian Gillan is definately the most popular, and probably well known. I must also point out you missed out Joe Lynn Turner, who was with DP for a short while. Anyway, DC, mabye loner lasting and more powerful in terms of vocals, but Gillan is certainly awesome. Never heared any of Rod Evans stuff with Purple. I must also point out that, Jon Lord was the Keyboardist, not a Vocalist, but he is certainly the best Kyeboardist around and yeah, only original member in DP now, is Drummer Ian Paice.

Thanks for responsing, firstcontact. Yea, I forgot Joe Lynn Turner, and I agree with you that GIllan is also awesome. Evans only joined the 1st album, if i'm not mistaken. One more thing, yes I do know that Jon Lord was the keyboardist :), I only added more info that the last time I went to DP concert, I was very dissapointed that he wasn't there anymore. Anyway, DP still one of the best rock band ever.

I'm sure he is. But Ian is my favorite. Always has been. But wow, no Jon Lord? I would have to saqy he's kind of hard to replace. I don't remember the year I saw them bjut it was before 2006. Probably around 2000. I don't remember if Jon was there or not. Good concert though.

I like both David Coveidale and Ian Gillan. It is very hard to me to say who is better. I am agree that David Coverdale is most powerful.
