Breaking a bone is no joke. Calling an ambulance to the hospital is right. There are specialists there, and they are the ones who knows best what to do with it. They definitely will try to fix back the bone as immediate as possible. Any delays may caused new bones to grow in the wrong place, and this may result in not being able to fix it back nicely.

No, i haven't broken any bones yet. That would really, really be painful. I have sprained some muscles but thank God that i didn't break any bones. I'm quite careful with my surroundings so i don't get involved with a lot of accidents. I guess you did the right thing, to call an ambulance. I don't think any person can withstand the pain of broken bones.

I think I must be luck, I have not break my bones before and don't have that kind of experience that you had. But I think I will advice my neighbor to call for an ambulance if such things happened as we don't really know how to handle such case before.

I have had bones broken as a teenager, and in my early twenties, three(3) toes, two(2) fingers(one,lateraly/length-wise)and one in my right hand.
None of them were ever professionally re-set.
You did the right thing in calling the ambulance, besides painful bone damage, many other complications could arise, blood clotting, nerve damage, much more is possible, all with even more sub-complicatons.
My breaks are now 20-25 years old and are sometimes painful reminders that I should have been more respectful of my body, and less foolish in my activities.
