Several times, but the most significant one being when I was 16, my mother and I took a route into the city that we normally didnt take. As we were driving, we passed a semi rig that zipped by us at a rather high speed. A bit further up the road, we saw a conversion van, overturned and in a ditch. My mother and I got out to see if we could help anyone, but most of them were trapped as the doorframes were now smashed. Many people passed by and did not stop. My mother took the car and drove to a house up the road to call for help. Unfortunately, not everyone survived :(

That is really sad I wish more people cared like you and your mom. I know that sometimes we are placed in situations where we need to help and people sometimes do not give a crap. I think you and your mom deserved so kinda of recognition about this and all I want to say is I am greatful that there are people still like you and your mom. Take care :)

Yes, I did. I have worked in a rescue unit for about 13 years as a Paramedic firefighter. It is actually what I do, so obviously I have responded to a lot of emergencies during my stint as a rescuer. May it be on duty or off duty. As you can see there were also instances that I have responded to someone even during my off duty days. Well, I no longer work for the unit but I am still within such scope of work. I conduct training programs for safety and first aid. It is really very satisfying and fulfilling.

Well funny that you asked this because I have a story that I can share with you. A few weeks ago I was walking to the store to get food and I was heading back to my place. In the road a womens car had just stopped and this was a very busy road! I was scared for her and she was by herself so I know she was unable to get the car out of the middle of traffic. There were a lot of people standing around and not doing anything which I thought was really messed up. Anyway so I put down my bags from the store got in front of her car and help push the car out of traffic a man stopped his car to help as well. I was so glad so was safe and I never knew her name or anything. To me this is my most recent helped someone story. I felt so good after I did that my adreline was going on for about an hour after that happened. I put myself before someone else and I felt good about it. Take care and happy mylotting as well.

A while back I was riding in a car with a friend and we saw a woman lying on the side of the road. I screamed at her to stop the car. There was no one around- no emergency vehicles or anything, and I don't know any first aid, so I didnt' go to her. This was before either of us had a cell phone. I ran across the street (almost getting hit by an oncoming car in the process) and banged on the door of the nearest house. An old lady was watching tv and she jumped up all startled. I told her there had been an accident and that I needed to use the phone. I told the 911 operator that a woman had been hit by a car and then gave the address. When I came out another car had stopped. My friend waved me over and told me that the guy who had stopped was a volunteer firefighter and that the woman had had a seizure , had not been hit. So she was ok. I didn't stay to wait for the ambulance, my friend and I left. I can't remember where we were going. I am not even sure who was with me, to be honest. This was about fifteen years ago (I was just a kid) but I remember the sight of the woman lying there clear as day.
