Do you get your paycheck, social security or whatever your funds may be mailed to you or direct deposited into your bank account or onto a debit card? I like getting my funds direct deposited. It's free.I don't have to worry about my social security check getting lost or delayed in the mail. When I worked for a bank, before the direct deposit was popular and available to most people and businesses, employees pay got deposited in to their free accounts. When someone went to work there they automatically got a free checking account. With the direct deposit sometimes my pay would get to my account early.Meaning that I would have money early! Yes!Also,I don't have to worry about rushing to the bank before they close to cash my check. My husband did not and would not use direct deposit,he said he would rather have a check in his hand.Which I did not understand. But,because of that sometimes on payday a bill would be due such as the rent and he did not get to cash his check till the next day. Therefore we would not get to pay the rent till late and and pay a late fee. What do you prefer? Of course I would just prefer to be rich and not worry about it

I am with you on that, I would prefer to be rich and not worry about it. I think direct deposit is great, its so much safer that way too. I do understand why your hubby liked to have a check, my hubby liked that too. They can see what they worked for, they also like holding the money in their hand.

I love direct deposit and I recently took for granted how convenient it is. I live in Tampa, FL, and the head office for my job is in Ohio. My bank recently changed it's routing number without informing me. My direct deposit was rejected so I had to have a paper check mailed to me. Our payday is on Thursday. I did not receive a check until Monday. I was so mad. I love my direct deposit.

I used direct deposit. It saves me from going to the bank, withdrawing money and spending it as what would happen if I got a check. Most of my purchases are done by credit card and the only time I need money is if I am going to buy something and cannot use a debit card or a check. Oh and in winter, it is very cold walking to the bank. I sometimes wish that there was a slit in the side of the computer so that we would enter our bank account number and get our money right away. I think your husband is silly. Mine's the same way about online banking. He would rather go to the bank itself and find out what the amount is, then just going online.

Definitely direct deposit. I don't have to drive all the way to my bank to deposit the check, and go through all the hassles. I don't even want to wait in a long line for that. You know, sometimes banks got a long line to wait for. I just don't have patient for it. I truly recommend direct deposit is the No. 1 choice.

My eBay earnings and money I earn for online writing all goes into Paypal, and I love it. I have a debit card I can draw the money out with when I need it, and the grandkids can't mooch cash off of me when I don't have it! They're pretty good at that...you're right, being rich would be nice....

Lol, my grand daughter has learned the word "money" and she knows that it is in my purse too.(when I have it,lol).I have a paypal account and debit card.Had some trouble with them with my bank account as a back up,then they processed unapproved payments. But denied a previous transaction that I did make.Got that straight. They will not let me direct deposit my social security check tho.I want to sell on ebay, but my scanner will not work on this netbook.

Direct deposit is the greatest thing that ever happened to me. I love direct deposit. I get my disability check direct deposited into my bank account every month, on the last day of the month. it's nice that I don't have to go to the bank to put it in, and that it's all there when i want to pay my bills on line.

I like the last sentence best, we would all like to be rich. But then we would worry about someone taking it away from us somehow.Like the IRS or some other crooks. To get back to the discussion...I have my checks direct posited. You can say I'm lazy or I just like doing things the easy way. I never carry cash with me anywhere. Thank God for plastic, otherwise I wouldn't be able to buy anything. I even have my bills on auto-pay through my bank. At least that way they are never late. Banks now days offer a lot for free, why not use them?

I have always picked up my paychecks or had them mailed to me. I have never signed up for direct deposit in the past. My child support payments come on a debit card. That is nice though.

Direct deposit here. I am jobless now but when I was working I had my paycheck direct deposit it was better for me because I worked 18 miles from home. And sometime I would not be there on payday so it was better for me to do direct deposit. I am presently drawing my unemployment insurance and it is direct deposit. My income tax refunds were direct deposit. I really do like direct deposit.

I get direct diposit. I find I can manage my money better that way. If you take your check personally to the bank and deposit odds are you might get some money out. When using my debit card I usually am more aware of my purchases and cost. When i use money i tend to not think first.
