Do you think that atheletes feel that they are above the law?

Lately I have seen more and more sports athletes on the news...and not for good reason. More are getting caught using illegal drugs, DUIS, gambling, weapons, etc.
Do you think that athletes feel that they are above the law?
Do you feel that they get this god like feeling from their high school and college days?

I feel like anyone who's put in the limelight feels like they're excluded from the law (which isn't the case, obviously..) I think a lot of athletes, celebrities, and even maybe politicians - put themselves on pedestals (because of their fame/career) and therefore feel like they're "too good" to follow common laws like the rest of us. I don't know if it has anything to do with their high school or college days, though (as I don't really see what that has to do with anything). I think it's probably them being cocky and thinking they can get away with anything they want to just because they're famous.
