For the people who are not formiliar with the concept: on the 30th of april we have a national holiday in the Netherlands on which people (especially children) can sell their own goods on the streets. For a collector like me this is a special treat as I get to look through tons of toys in search of my little pony's.
The last couple of years I got slim pickings, but this year was great!
I found:
- 24 vintage my little ponies (from the 80's)
- 4 generation 2 my little ponies (I don't collect them but they came in with lots of other ponies)
- 36 generation 3 my little ponies (the ones they still sell in the stores right now)
- Two talking ponies that are quite recent releases as well
I am super happy, this is a huge find!To make this a discussion: do you enjoy fleamarkets and/or thriftstores? And do you have specific things you search for?

WOW that is an amazing find. Recently I found a whole table of G3s, but they were in ratty shape and too expensive. I go to flea markets and thrift stores all the time. I search for clothes, fabric, any photography props, lenses for my camera and any other 80s toys!

That's too bad, I experience many overpriced ponies nowadays too. I don't know why, but it seems like in the old days we could buy ponies for 10 cents and kids nowaday ask 2 or 3 dollars for a single pony. Sometimes they are well kept and worth it, but they can be tailless or whatever aswell.
I search for clothing aswell and fabric too. Do you make your own clothing aswell? .

I agree, certain toys can be really expensive. At the fleamarket I saw a gamecube console and a gamboy advance sp console, together they cost $30! You are never 100% sure if they work but they looked lovely. If I didn't have the consoles allready I would've definatly considered taking the risk. Too bad that the thrift stores are not so common in your country.

Wow, it looks like you did great. It would take me years to find that many ponies at yard sale around here.
I love flea markets , yard sales and thrift stores. Most of the time I am looking for a variety of things. My top items are My Little Ponies (preferably 80's style), Littlest Pet shop (new style), Transformers (for my son's collection) and now Star Wars items that my son is just starting out with. There are no thrift stores or flea markets in my town so we have to stick to yard sales which only happen in spring and summer. They are just starting this time of year so hopefully I'll have some luck.

Hi Breezie, thanks for the lovely response! Most of the time I don't have these big lots either, most of the time I find nothing or just a couple of ponies. I have really gone bankrupt this year! LOL!
If you have any new LPS items you desperately seek and that are earopean you can pm me about it and I can have a look out for you here in Holland .

Wow sounded like you had a good day and I am glad that you found the stuff that you were looking for. We don't have any flea markets here but I am always interested to go when I am in other countries, because I think that would be quite fun to browse around. I don't have anything in particular to look for, usually I just browse around *smiles*.

Browsing around sounds like a lot of fun aswell, wondericequeen. I often do this whilst looking for my little ponies at the same time. Too bad that they don't have them in your country, I would be so sad if we would no longer have them. Thanks for your lovely reply and have a great day!
