I am on bedrest for the next 6-10 weeks and I am only on day 4 of my bedrest and I am bored to death!! I have my books that I am reading, but a person can only read so much for so long, I have my TV with my DVR and Movies, but once again a person can only watch so much TV/Movies. I surf the net, but that even gets a little boring after a while because there is not much to really do and yes I play all sorts of games online. Anyway does anyone have any new ideas of things I could do to kill time over these next several weeks. I would love to here your advice. Please HELP!!!!

Hate to hear that your having to stay on bedrest. These two things might help out a little, if you have a surface to begin a puzzle on or maybe play some solitaire might help pass the time.

Sorry to hear that you're on bed rest. But I totally agree, spider solitare really does speed up the time. Take up knitting as well. It's very relaxing and keeps your hands and your mind busy.

Sorry to hear that! I hope the time will go fast for you. What other ideas can I give? Catch up with all your friends and relatives by giving them a telephone call. Ask them to call you when they have a bit of time. Ask them to visit you, if you are able to receive visitors. See if you have a talent for writing poetry. Are you able to try to learn to play a musiocal instrument? Research ways to earn some money on the internet. See if there are ways of shortening your bedrest time, if that is possible. Listen to your favorite songs on youtube.

You have gotten a ton of great advice thus far and some of them are fairly easy to do. I definitely suggest a wide range of crafts. Maybe now is time to try one you haven't tried before that you have always wanted to. I love beadwork and jewelry making. I also suggest taking up writing. MyLot can be fun, but you could also take the things that you know and write articles. Some of my favorite sites to write for are Helium, Hubpages, and eHow. This way you could earn a few dollars with your bed rest. If you enjoy doing it you could even get enough articles written to make a few dollars from them after you are off bed rest. Hulu will let you try out some new TV shows that you might not other wise have come across. Well...sorry I couldn't be of more help. Good luck with your bed rest.

I suppose getting into any sort of creative pursuit is the best way to keep boredom at bay. When creating something new, you are learning, experimenting and seeing success. A pat on your shoulders. And the next step forward. When we are engaged in something creative, we lose sense of time (or time flies, as they say).. and by the end of the rest period, you will have learned a new skill or achieved something. Suggestions - poetry (especially, Haiku), composing music, singing, learning to use a new music or picture software, building a website by yourself.. just thinkg outside the box.. and you'll be amazed at what you come up with! Get well soon :-)

well, if i'm bored, i sleep. well i think you could buy a puzzle book and answer it, particularly a sudoku book. it's fun and very challenging to answer. i usually answer my sudoku book when i've done almost everything to keep me away from boredom. and you could also write or draw anything, if you want though, mmmm. i guess that's all i can think of. hope to help you! happy earning!

What about learning caligraphy? It is fairly easy and the ink markers are resonable priced. Writing letters to freinds instead of e-mail is something that could take up a few hours. Find some great stationary and pens--and have fun with it. Also what about scrapbooking? You could go down memory lane while looking at pics. Hope it goes well for you. Good luck!

Teach yourself to crochet. Basic stitches are pretty easy to learn with an instruction book, and you can make all kinds of cute little things for your family. Rug-hooking is easy to learn, too. Join Associated Content and submit some articles and you can make a little money, too, while you are on bedrest!

Right now I don't know the meaning of boredom, lol. I've been so busy. How about learning a new subject material? Something you've always been interested in? If I had bed rest for that long I'm be propping up my keyboard on my bed and playing some tunes. And I suppose I could also play harmonica lying down as well. Right now I'm sick and in the middle of midterms so I would love to be in bed!

well you could try bored.com. its a fun website. (i havent been there for awhile but they used to have this bubble popping game - like the bubbles on plastic wrap! way fun!) do you knit, crochet or cross stitch? the last time i had an operation, i made a blanket for my sister in law. (also, if you have a local library, maybe you can request stuff on line - our library does deliver!) also, contact the red cross and see if you can rent a wheel chair. at least then you can go out a little. (my dad took me to the mall and wheeled me around when i tore a muscle in my ankle). hope this helps!

Sorry bout the bedrest. No fun from what I've heard. I was going to suggest the same thing. Perhaps learn how to crochet or knit if you don't already or maybe a craft of sorts that interests you. And maybe for a different selection of movies you could go to Hulu or the alike where they have free streaming movies with commercials? SOmething.

What about a PSP or gameboy type thing? When I was sick for a bit there, I found that my iTouch was fun. I was always able to browse for new, wierd app to download, test out, and then start again. There's a lot of random stuff for the iTouch/iPhone, from hypnosis type things, informational resources, games, social network, etc. Plus, a lot of them are free. Lots and lots of podcasts too, which you can download in iTunes if you don't have an iPod. Hope this helps:)

have you tried playing suduko? if you're into solving puzzles or math problems, then this one will surely help that boredom... there are lots of suduko puzzles online, but i prefer those that are in books or magazines or newspapers.
