Have you had to cancel your travel plans due to the flu? If you do have travel plans will you still go? I didnt have any plans but just curious what others think.

We haven't had any travel plans. But you know it's nice to see they changed their minds that the swine flu is no different than anyother flu strain out there. I was curious myself if they were going to close the borders or whatever....

gosh I have no money to travel so that does not bother me at all, but I do know that it is pretty bad in some areas, I am glad there is no swine flu here yet.

I feel glad that I went to South Africa this January so I won't have to miss having a trip this year. In 2006 I had a wonderful trip to Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. I had to swap that trip and go to the Maldives in 2006 because Mexico suffered from a hurricane. I know flights to and from my local airport to Cancun have been suspended. I read in my local paper that two couples have had to cancel their plans for getting married in Mexico or honeymooning there. Just like when flights to Cancun were suspended in 2006 due to the hurricane it would be impossible for me to go back there right now. I am grateful that I don't have to cancel any of my travel plans. Swine flu sounds very scary to me.

I have never faced any such problem as such. I do not have any travel plans for the coming holidays but I think It would be a really dicey situation. If I was in your place then I would have definately tried to cancel my trip.

We do not have any plans to leave the area until later in the year, so i do not think that we will have to cancel them. It should all be over by then. at least i hope that it will be.

wW are bound for Hongkong on the 20th. According to the late night news a reported case of H1N1 or Swine Flu is now in Hongkong. I don't have any plan of canceling our trip as of now. I still have to see what are the developments by then. I agree with the comment earlier that Panic won't help. Most people are starting on taking antibiotics (which I think is absurd). I'll just take the necessary precaution. I wish that our plans could pursue/// :)

In fact I hope to travel to Hainan Island this month because the price is nice. Although I care about the news of H1N1, but I don't think the flu will have a big effect on my travel. The problem is my husband has a difficulty to take a few days off because of busy work. I love China

Isn't it just sad that there is this flu that keeps on threatening people and make them cancel their travel plans? As for me, I'll just be staying here in my city because I have summer classes to attend to. Plus travelling right now is not in the family's budget. However, my other relatives planned to go on vacation in the United States but they cancelled it coz of the flu that is spreading around.

I still have travel plans, what i am really focusing is boosting my immune system. No matter where you go, even if u stay at home or just talk to neighbor, you still have chance to get the virus. You dont know if your neighbor is already infected too, so the best thing to do is to stay healthy, eat right, exercise, do deep breathing exercises and go for herbal that is rich in anti oxidants. I am taking garlic at night and it helps me, as well a daily dose of vitamin c. Sometimes i will just chew ginger too. happy mylotting and smile always, i hope everyone is healthy here.

Well, fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your point of view, we do not have any travel plans for the near future. I don't know if I would actually cancel my plans though. It would be a tough call. I think there is just as much possibility in me getting the virus here at home as anywhere else. I'm just hoping that the worst of this is over by October, that's when my vacation is planned.

I don't really have any current travel plans that are really out of state or anything. I do have my honeymoon planned in June and no matter what - I'm going! lol Unless the president tells me I can't. lol In all honesty though, this whole scare with swine flu is scary. I hope that they can soon get it under control and that people stop getting infected with it.

No, I didn't have any travel plans right now. We are going to go visit my sister in law this weekend. She only lives about 1 1/2 hours away so we will not be traveling very far.

I still go. But first, I would make any prevention. Just got the seasonal shot first before going somewhere, avoid eating the pork, and stay healthy.

Though I have read many discussions on here how we shouldn't treat this flu any differently than other flus I know I have no plans or intentions of leaving the area or really leaving my house for unneccesary reasons to prevent from getting in contact with anything or even my family from getting anything. They just stated on this afternoon's news that they plan for more Americans to die from this and with no vaccine on hand for a couple months I have no intentions to greater my chance of coming in contact with it. Hopefully, the whole thing slows down some and we don't have any more deaths here in the U.S. or anywhere for that matter. "Better safe than sorry" my motto.
