No, we haven't had any school closures in my area, but it appears to be imminent. There has been a case of this swine flu about 30 miles from my home. This is very disturbing to me. If it gets much worse, my child will be staying home from school.

there are 3 around Austin, I heard on the news this morning, but I don't know where in town. I'm not going to worry about it, I avoid children anyway. I do know that I have gotten sick a LOT less since I don't work with people with small children any more.

None of our schools have closed due to flu. I don't think we have had much of a problem with illness this year, no more than usual. However they have been taking precautions to try to keep the children healthy. I know they are encouraging hand washing much more than normal. If we as parents can do the same at home this would definitely help to lessen all illnesses we have throughout the year.

not yet in sw florida, at least as of now. every 2-3 year's a flu scare comes out and people go crazy, better safe than sorry i guess, but they have all the vacine they need so why the big new's on every channel. i think it also has something to do with taking the heat off obama for awhile.

The schools in our district are open. A few of the schools in the largest district in the state are closed due to a child with a suspected case of the flu.

There are now several schools and even a daycare or two closed in that area. They closed a highschool in a new fancy subdivision 30min west of here because of it. We are lucky it has not affected us yet. I hope it doesn't as my hubby doesn't have any sick time and we can't afford him to loose pay.

There have been a couple here in the UK that were shut down for a while until they were totally sanitised then the children were allowed back to school..airports though are being cleaned every 15mins..so there is a fear of the flu spreading now..LoLo

Our schools are still open, but 3 hours south of us they have closed one school that has 6 confirmed cases. I am not really to worried about it. This not a case of the 1918 swine flu and the normal flu kills way more than this particular flu will.

Yes...it is just reaching us here in Michigan. Not our school district that we live in but they closed about 13 schools this week in another county and said they will be closed until next wednesday..May the 13th. I feel sorry for those kids that are healthy and out of school for this time since they will be in school to make up that time in the middle of summer when everyone else is out of school for the summer.

Here, in our locality , no serious problem about the same. It's all going well.
Schools are closed for enjoying summer vacation and not for flu.
So no problem. Actually, a lot of schools of different regions have been closed down due to the flu. May God save all of us from the same.

No we have no flu yet in Oregon, but it's just a matter of time. We senior citizens are thinking about what we can do to help if the schools have to close down.
