When I say drugs I mean nonfood, mood altering substances that are not deemed medically necessary but that are used in an effort to escape from the problems of life, to get a dreamy feeling, or a sence of well-being or of elation.
The bible does not name substance such as heroin, cocaine, marijuana or other drugs however it does give guidelines so that we can know what to do and what to avoid in order to please God. Similarly, the Bible does not say that it is wrong to use a gun to kill someone, but it does forbid murder.
Below I stated 2 scriptures which support this:
1. Luke 10:25-27
In summary this states that we must love God with our whole heart, mind and soul and our neighbour as ourselves. Hence do you think that a person will be following this if they practice things that needlessly shorten his life and cause his mind to be blurred? Also do you think that a person will be showing love for their neighbour if he steals from others to support their drug habit?
2. 2 Corinthians 7:1
In summary this states that we must cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit to perfect ourselves holy in fear of God. Do you think that if we deliberately do things that defile our bodies that we will gain Gods approval? There are a number of other scriptures that support this such as:
Titus 2: 11 & 12
Galations 5:19-21
Titus 3:1
Please let me know your view on this.
