I have always followed the maxims help thy neighbor and do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Well I am starting to wonder if my neighbor has ever heard these. I was the first person in the neigbor hood to be friendly to her. But now I feel like she is using me and every one nice in the neighbor hood that I have introduced her to. She has lived here for abought 3 years now. I introduced her to everyone around over the first year she lived here.
Well now she has two of the older gentle men on the road paying her to do things, buying her milk and bread, and so on. no one around here has a lot of money but we always try to help any neighbor when they need it. But she seems to be going a little far. Her old man took off on her abought two months ago, and the neighborhood has been taking care of her since then.
She has no job and I havent heard her mention looking for one. But she always has cigaretts and anything else she wants or needs. Her old man hasnt been back or sent any money since she left.
I was just wondering what every one else thinks of this. Am I being to harsh? I havent said anything to her, but am thinking abought it. any advice?

She could be depressed, and not wanting to look for a job. I think she needs to be nudged in the right direction, and maybe the neighbors need to stop helping so much to see just how she does react and whether she is genuinely appreciative, or will be angry because everyone is stopping their attentions.
Good luck. A for harsh, no, I just think you feel used.

I agree. I think she needs to be nudged in the right direction. Talk to the neighbors and have them help you nudge her in the right direction and not baby her.
