Are you making any? Have your kids been working on construction paper cards for you? Or has it yet to even be mentioned? I have no idea what I will be doing. But if it's like any other year, no one here will know until the day of. LOL

When is Mother's Day? I'm a mom, you'd think I'd know this one.

I don't know if Mothers Day is celebrated at the same date all over the world but here in the Phil it is celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of May, this year, May 10. You know, before, we were not conscious about this too. There was this time about 4 years ago. My husband and I were attending a monthly meeting of couples (about 2 thousand attendees). Evryone was greeting each other Happy Mothers Day, I even received text messages from my sons and their then-girlfriends (now wives). But my husband never greeted me. I really felt so bad, and I told him so. Good thing every year since then he now greets me and if none of my sons would invite me for lunch, it will be his treat.

I'm not really sure how our day will go. I know I need to take my mother in law and my mom their card and gift that we got them. My mom said something about having a dinner at her house. And I know we will go to church that morning. But I'm not sure really what order we will do everything in until the day of. LOL On Saturday night my grandmother called and invited me to a Mother/Daughter banquet they are having at her church. She had three boys and never had a daughter so she has always thought of me as a "daughter" more than a granddaughter. We do a lot of stuff together and she calls me often. One day we were having lunch together and a gentleman asked her if I was her daughter and my son her grandson. She said, "no she is my granddaughter but since I had all boys and she is the only granddaughter that I have I feel like she's a daughter." So I thought it was sweet that she called and invited me to go with her. I hope you have a nice Mother's Day though!!

Well, We try to make mother's day special each year. SO maybe this year we will just have a cookout since most of the family is scattered this time. My sister and her family, my niece, and my older brother all moved Back to Ohio in April so it won't be but Me,little sis, and my younger brother..But I guess it isn't how many that is there is is how much love you have for your mom and how much you show it.

It's not the happiest day for me since my mom passed away 2 years ago. I'll be taking my roommate to visit her mom since I had no plans of my own. She doesn't drive any more and doesn't get to see her parents that often. We'll probably have dinner with them in their retirement place. If not that, then maybe we will all go out to eat. It depends on whether or not her mom is up to it.

It has not gotten into our family system until quite recently, and I think Mothers Day celebration in the Philippines got popular not too long ago. I know we never celebrated it when I was young, and even when I was already a young mother myself. But maybe because it has become more popular now, thanks to media, one of my sons would treat me to lunch during mothers day. I know they will be treating their soon-to-be-mothers wives to special lunch. And my husband will be the one to take me to lunch now.

Usually on Mother's Day it's my choice. Last year my husbands mother and I got together and decided we wanted to go to the local flea market and then go eat chinese. It was a nice day out and about and no worries about anything. This year, I am not sure. My husband just recently had to go to Kentucky for his job and we aren't sure if he'll get to come home or if he'll have to stay in Kentucky for the 6 to 8 weeks that is allotted for this job. I think if he's able to come home, it will be a very laid back day of just spending time together.

I have no idea what my sons are doing for Mother's Day. I expect my husband to get me something, but he can't because we have to put all the money to fixing up the house. They are coming over on Saturday to move out the beds. I do not think that there will be much happening so really I have no plans. I was hoping that my sons give me a Best Buy gift card to put towards that computer I want. A cake would be nice and some dark chocolates, etc.

My mother and my sisters and their families are all coming over to my house for mothers day. We are having a brunch that morning. My husband will be working, but my children will be here to celebrate with us. I run a daycare and the kids in my daycare are making MOM keychains for their mothers. I think that they will come out cute. I always try to have them make a cute gift for their moms.

I don't really have any plans for Mother's Day. I will probably just stay home. I might give my sister some money to take the kids out to buy me a present. My son did really good with that last year.

I'll most likely be in Canada for Mother's day. We've been planning to visit a friend in Ottawa for months now and have yet to be able to do so. My husband is finally taking a vacation, so we're planning on going up there the day before Mother's day, then we'll be coming home on Tuesday which happens to be my birthday. The day after my birthday is my oldest son's birthday, so it's a busy week for us. Even if we weren't going to be in Canada, we'd probably just be celebrating my son's birthday as that's more important than my holidays. BTW, my wedding anniversary is next Thursday and that will be going over looked as well. I won't even get a gift this year, normally I get at least 1 gift that is meant to cover all 3 holidays. But this year we're too broke with rent and the power bill both being due.

Ahh. dang it...This happens every year (it seems)...You get remined of mothersday the day before. The postoffice is closed and you can´t send her anything. (this time is was 2 days but today it is labourday (in my country) so the postoffice is closed anyway. So I´m guessing the usual Mothers Day Call...
