spiritual experiences

I once had an experience which I cannot describe as anything but spiritual and 'out of this world'. It came out of nowhere, was intense and to an extent changed my life. It sounds weird, but while I was reading a book in a Bombay hotel room, ( herman Hesse ' Siddhartha') the room suddenly seemed to fill with light and I felt completely engulfed in pure love and a feeling of connection to everything on this earth, in complete and utter harmony with all living things. It lasted a few minutes, but left me gasping. May sound strange to those who never had a moment like this, but I know there are many people who also have these' spiritual' experiences. What are yours?

Spiritual experiences... I've heard about the kind of spiritual experience that you've mentioned before. Mine was the fact that I was praying and asking God to show me who some of my enemies were. As I had moved into a new neighborhood and I wasn't sure if some of the people were really my friends or enemies. Almost the very next day after I had said the prayer, some snakes begin to show up on the front porches of two of my neighbors houses. Since that time, one of the neighbors have moved away, I also heard that her family had broken up....... as for the other one, she still lives here but she never even bother to speak. So I was happy that God had given me a sign to let me know that these two people were not true friends.

Snakes? On the front porch? Where do you live???I would move away , too, like your neighbour, lol! How do you know it wasn't just your interpretation and not the answer to your prayer?

Maybe you experienced that because of the book you are reading. We know that Siddhartha is known as the enlightened one.^_^
