How many of you are addicted to Facebook and what applications do you use? In fact, I have just answered a particular discussion on Facebook and find that I do spend 3/4 of my time now more than before. What is the major attraction about Facebook that get many of us addicted. Is it purely for the games, friends or other pulling factors like for small businesses to gain exposure and gain more customers.
Do share. Thanks friends. I know it's been awhile since I have been in mylot creating new discussions and I just miss mylot so much. I might be back here for good. I'm still here and always will be. Thanks in advance, friends.

I am a self confessed Facebook addict.. it seems that i can't let the day pass without visiting one of my favorite social networking sites.. the fun filled applications like virtual gifts, quizzes, games(pet society, restaurant city, word challenge and geo challenge) are the reasons why i am hooked on it.. i am not after the recent updates and alike.. while mylotting, i am playing restaurant city as well.. i am customizing the look of my restaurant.. =)

Hi gracie. I feel you there, and like you, I'm in it for quizzes and games there too. I'm super addicted to mafia wars there and a lot of my time are spending time trying to gain more members for this game. It could rot me, LOL. But Facebook is pretty much where I am at mostly now.

So THAT'S where you've been
Nothing attracts me there. I have an account but only so I can see the photos my sister uploads there. My home is here on on the Lot.
'Bout time you came back too!

It's nice that I make someone happy once in a while Zed - some are fed up with seeing me sometimes!

Hey there mysdianait, I feel so happy seeing you here in my discussion. Thanks a lot and I do miss friends whom are longer here like you and the rest though I don't see them much anymore here. Wonder if they are also in FB. . However I do agree with you, nothing beats the lot. That's where I am all this while, including some other places and it's about time I come back like you said.

Not really addictedto, but if there's one thing that makes me check my facebook profile it's the comments and updates from friends. I know many are using FB to promote their business but I haven't figured out how to do it yet. I would love to maximize using the full potential of facebook but I have yet to learn a lot of things.
The applications and games don't attract me so much as they are a waste of time I think. I would rather spend time blogging or reading others' blogs.

If you go quiet people around you will get quiet on you too. Just like me I haven't been updating so much lately and so I haven't got any comments back. But that's all right. As long as I know where they are and when special day is coming for someone I get notified so I just send them ecards their way. Facebook and other social networking sites are really a virtual community where we can mingle with friends without leaving our homes.
But I think there are things I need to explore on FB like how to promote a product to others. But I really don't know where to find the crowd.

You are right on that. Not everything is super cool there on FB. There are moments when everyone goes quiet and I go quiet as well. And sometimes I go quiet, they will. I've found a mylotter there and have added her. She said she's not active here so much anymore. So I think it works differently for different people.

You are right; the games there can totally be distracting my time and sometimes when working, I can't resist to take a peek at my Mafia game. It's a very good networking for business owners there; and I must say the personal networking is good too, but people tend to go quiet after some time there.
I love reading others blogs and whatnot. That's certainly awesome, thanks for replying.

Frankly speaking, I'm an old fashioned person and don't like to chat or involve too much online. Therefore, I've not joined facebook or other such networks. Further, I don't have much spare time due to my job, because of which I'm not able to devote much time even to mylot also.

You should, my friend. It is surely addictive in the sense that it has lots of games for one, connecting with friends and also the other part of it is for the quizzes, the applicators which can be cute like hugs and whatnot and many more. I think amongst all networking sites, Facebook is the best for now.

Hmm, there seems to be more and more people that I know being addicted to FaceBook. I was aware when it started but I really didnt join and even with the hype these days I might not join. I have the same feeling about Twitter.
Its just that I already have many profiles and even if the site has many applications I just dont have that much time to stay online and play games or 'enjoy' these days. I already am enjoying doing what Im doing right now.^_^
There is also the fear that once I do finally join Facebook and get reeled in and be hooked on it then I might neglect the work and studies that Im supposed to be doing. I cant really tell my professor that FaceBook ate my time so I wasnt able to do the homework or something like that. It would be nice if we can though.LOL
Its nice to have you back posting again, zed and I do know what you mean by 'still here and always will be'

I perfectly know what you mean there totally. Even right now, with my participation once more in mylot and Facebook now, and skiving from work, it can get crazy with all these tabs and windows open. LOL. I understand pretty much what you said. It is something like never starting something that we will sucked at totally. Facebook games and whatnot are really time consuming though enjoyable. It's hard to tear myself away from the applications at times.

My daughter, she's a mother of two, is a Facebook adict, and she spends far too much time on Facebook when she should be dedicating some of that time to her family. I live in Thailand, and she lives in Perth and our main line of communication is by email. However since she started on Facebook, it's hard to get any news from her. However, I do get a large volume of emails telling me so-and-so write on my wall, or commented on a photo of me. In most cases I don't even know the person. Facebook annoys me!

This I must agree with you. Especially game notifications and many other small applications which could be time consuming. I think your daughter has gotten carried away with the Facebook bug. I do force myself to tear away from it sometimes, and it takes a huge amount of work.

lol =D YEah, u have been missing from mylot for quite some time, and a few months at least.. haha =D
Well, i'm not into facebook because i find it a waste of time instead.. With the time spent in playing games there or catching up with virtual frenz, i might as well use those time to earn online.. lol =D
I really dunno what makes facebook so attractive other than being in the trend?? haha =D Now with twitter, i guess trend is gonna change again, and it's gonna be more addictive than ever.. lol =D

Hey there kun2349,it's been sometime since I chatted with you in mylot too. When before I created FB, I realized that I must be wasting time. And some of the widgets there can tend to waste time but it helps the time pass whenever I'm bored at work and wanting some kind of inspiration. I do agree that for those who are out trying to earn some extra cash online, playing FB will really take that time away. LOL. But for those stuck at work and really bored, FB can be totally cool. There needs to be some kind of line drawn there. I'm enjoying it for now but like what you said is mostly right. Twitter is gaining popularity now and then what else there might be.

hi zed! ... maybe those facebook addicts are not logging-in here in mylot anymore these days that's why there are very few self-confessed FB addicts in your responses!
i am recently hooked in facebook and though i have been a member there since like 8 months but its only very recently that i have found my friends there. 8 months ago when i registered, all my friends are there in friendster so I said what's the use in FB if I can't interact with my friends. so now that they are active there, i am constantly checking. and yes, there's plenty of quizzes there, one can't get enough of those types.. there's virtual gifts, and the games... yoville, mafia, superpoke pets.. those are eating up my time!

Hi Ysabel. I suppose you are right. . I think those FB addicts are too busy with their Mafia, Yoville and whatnot to come and spare me a discussion time here, LOL. I like your teasing there; very spot-on. Anyway, you are absolutely right. There are just so many things going on in FB and at the same time, keeping in touch with friends are also another perk of getting oneself addicted to the ever growing site. But mylot is a different love. I love this too. LOL!!

Hello zed_4!!!
Well currently too on the next tab I have my facebook opened opened with me and I am also chatting with friends in facebook current. Most of the time, I keep opening the facebook though I am not really using it, mostly to see if I meet the friends online whom I have been looking for to talk.
I don't like to use the applications in facebook though I use facebook a lot. There are so many applications and I have the pending applications requested my friends. There are so many but I refuse to use them. Are the applications on facebook really interesting to you? I don't find any really useful application there...
But like you said, you discuss a lot in facebook, I too discuss a lot there. But the difference here and there is that, I mostly post in the friends group where we friends enjoy lot of stuffs. And I am the one who introduce some forum games in the discussion board with my friends. Though those forum games are internationally popular but my friends were not used to them. But I made then introduce to some of the interesting games like banning the person above us, three word story game etc. Also I post in some other discussions in different group. But I don't like it that much because people respond there very less. A single post in about 15 days. That's why I don't post more beyond the friends group.
And about the question, Am I addicted? Well I guess 50%. Because most of the time I use facebook only for connection with the friends rather than other applications.
So friend, happy mylotting and also facebooking. Pretty new term "Facebooking" hehe
Have a nice time

I understand what you mean, my friend. The fact that FB has so many games means that there are just lots of different varieties that can cater to each and everyone of us. I'm with you on the quiz thing. Truly awesome...LOL. If you want, my FB account is in my profile. Have a nice day.

And once I tried few quizzes, since then I get so many such notifications...

I am addicted to the games! I love MyFarm, Sorority Life, Lil Green Patch, Lil Blue Cove, 101 eggs, all the quizzes and just seeing what my friends are up to. I am really bad, I will play just about any game my friends send me. I haven't gotten into the Mafia Wars thing though. What do you guys think of it? Should I try it?

I know! I have been going more and more onto Facebook lately! I have found so many old friends from high school and from my past jobs on there. I visit every day and I always update my profile. It is a nice way to see what my friends are all up to too on a day to day basis. I have friends from all over the country.
I also go onto Myspace and here on myLot every day too. It is an addiction. The other site that I make sure to go to every day and use up my daily spins on is winster.com.
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I use facebook a lot purely for the games, and getting in touch with my brother and some friends they are easier to get a hold of on facebook compared to over the phone.
