How should I advertise my garage sale?

I need some ideas. I'm having a HUGE garage sale in a couple of weeks, and I want it to be a success! Other than the classic poster-making (and hanging them up around town), what are some other ideas that you have to get the word out about my garage sale? Any help is SERIOUSLY appreciated, guys!

Tell your friends on myspace and facebook to tell their friends to tell their parents to tell their parents to tell their friends?! Uhh, but eh. As others have suggested any places where you can post local classifieds for free on the internet can be quite helpful like as mentioned in this discussion, craigslist. I suppose the best thing you can really do though is something like. "Buy one get one free!" or some kind of gimmick similar to that. Not really necessarily that though, aha. Buut. I'm sure you know what I mean. Eh. I had a site where it allowed you to submit garage sales too but I have lost it. *sigh*.

That's OK. Everything is REALLY cheap, like less than .50 cents and the only thing about telling friends over facebook is that I really would feel weird if they bought some of my old clothes and started wearing them. . Just...weird. haha. If you find that site again, let me know!

do you have a local newspaper that you can put it in? this can be sort of expensive but might be worth it. also, do you have kijiji or something similiar online, they also have a spot for garage sales but not as many may read it as in the newspaper.

Hi maezee try your local new paper or ring your local radio station or ask your mail man if he could mail your flyers with his mail.
