Religion is the recognition of obedience to, and worship of a higher, unseen power. Religious is a system of thought considered to have a supernatural, sacred, or divine character, Although on can find a variety of definition existing for religions. Whether one comes from a religious background or consider religion to play a vital role in modern life affecting and interacting with conscious or unconcious choices. The fact still remain that religion regardless of the model one examines is one of the most important characteristic found in todays culture. Religion has a tremendous impact on effective communication as it intervene with ones understanding of others.

Religion is a group of people following a set of rituals directed at the worship of a deity or being more powerful or charismatic than themselves. A religion depends on the group to function. It cannot exist without people. It cannot exist without a higher force to look up to. It cannot exist without some form of ritual.

So ritual is more important than humility. we are immortal. a group? just by saying a group we have separated ourselves.

Religion is just a form of control. It is a way of getting masses of people to follow a certain thing, brainwash them and turn them into to robots so that nothing else in the world matters except how devoted they are to their religion. You asked for opinions, well, that's mine!

My belief that religion is a form of control comes from my opinions and my beliefs and my experiences with religion growing up. I have no problem with your opinion or anyone who follows religion. It's just not my cup of tea!

I think I know what you are saying.
I have been reading and studying ancient mankind, specifically the era just as the first settlements come together as a culture, leading to a civilization. Relgion was 'invented' for several reasons: it gave a reason for the acts of nature (rain, floods, wind storms, etc), explained mysterious landscape, gave a reason for the peoples of the settlements to believe that they belonged together and were better that other peoples, and gave a method for the priests and chiefs (and later kings) to control the mass of people. Thus, religion made its mark upon the culture. Religion provided for the basic beliefs and character of the society. Just as they applied to ancient man, they still provide character and beliefs for modern man.

Religion is dogma, people follow it blindly to look for secure, comfort, gratify, so the basic reason for people to follow religion is afraid.
