What is your opinion on extra classes for children in the summer vacation ?

I think extra schoolwork and projects are alright because it would teach children to be more responsible. However, extra care must be given in making sure that they also have time to relax, play and have fun. Playing is also a way for children to learn, be creative and promote camaraderie with other kids. Take care!

Hi lak2jai, Presently I am in Delhi and here it is too much hot (Temperature in between 43-45 degrees). I am giving my opinion on the basis of this fact. Here some schools are already decided to close down due to the scorching hot, prior to their schedule. Schools are giving holiday home works for children to keep in touch with studies well. I think that is enough for the kids and it may add the burden of parents to spend some time everyday with kids. Here schools are providing summer camps for those children who wish to participate otherwise there is no extra class for children in summer vacation. If you ask the question based on Kerala’s school, I think they are starting classes after the announcement of results that also for 10th standard students. I am not sure about the present status earlier it was like that. But in my knowledge, the schools in Kerala are not providing any holiday home works and kids are really enjoying holidays and they are not keeping in touch with studies, so in that condition, extra classes are necessary especially in high school classes.

I think its good for children to have summer activity so they wont get bored and they will learn other things than the subjects they learned from school. Especially if the activity is related to want they want to do like example they like to dance. Summer classes is a nice time for them to develop their talent in dancing by summer lessons.

I think children should be given extra classes in the vacations as it can help the weak in completing their work but it should not be compulsary for the students to attend the school as children have other plans for the vacations.Or children should consult the refering teachers and fix a day ,come on that day and clear all their doubts.
