If you are involved in Paid to Click sites, there is a real interesting thread at a forum you should read. This thread is in regards to the ongoing dispute between GPTBank and a number of the PTC sites. If you are unfamiliar with GPTBank, they are basically a refback program. You join PTC programs through their referral link and they give you a portion of their referral earnings from your activities on those sites. You are able to combine the earnings from these multiple PTCs and cashout at $2.
Anyway, a number of PTC sites have recently banned GPTBank. In their own forums they refer to GPTBank as a scam and it will really surprise you to find out why. The thread contains a lot of back and forth between GPTBank admin, shortbux admin and a number of others involved in the PTC industry.
The basic problem the PTC admins have is that GPTBank brings in users that come and click the ads ( I thought that was the point of PTCs). They then say that the GPTBank referrals do not buy enough upgrades and referrals because they are just there to view the ads and earn through GPTBank. They state that this will be the death of many new PTCs because they don't start with any monetary reserves and can only pay with the money people invest in upgrades.
The PTC owner side of the debate claim that it is unfair that GPTBank labels the site as a scam when they don't pay out earnings and that GPTBank is a scam because it does pay its users. This is really screwed up. The PTC owners really put down any standard users as basically leaches on the system.
Most of this is stuff that we already knew but it is interesting to see it all spelled out by the people involved. I really believe in the side of GPTBank in that if you advertise a site that is supposed to pay you to view ads and refer people then it is reasonable to expect payment from that site when you do so. This is why I concentrate on my review site with programs that have been paying for over a year. The ones that have been around that long obviously know how to manage this as a business.
