What do you think about the job that would pay you 210/day for 1months training and after the training your salary will be 275/day and broken time but with tip but the tip ranges from 300-500 every second week. Its a korean restaurant and i cant believe that their salary are below minimum. Their branches are at makati, megamall, glorietta, rockwell, robinson. Will you accept that job? I apply there and i'm going to rent a boarding house because our house is in laguna so I'm thinking not to accept the job. I've apply in some chinese restaurant before but they pay minimum salary not below min. What do you think?

If you really need the job, take it. You can try to apply for another company afterwards. It is your prerogative on what to do with your life. If you think that it won't help you in anyway, then let go of the offer. If you don't get it someone else will be rewarded with the opportunity that you didn't accept. It will be a blessing to him/her and his/her family.

It is good compared to having no job and little on social security. If you get good tips that is even better.

The tip only ranges to 700-100 a month. Its still not enough with the below minimum salary. I can't have 10k in a month. I think minimum salary with no tip is much better than what they offer. Thanks for the response!

Well, if you badly need a job... and this is the only one available... then i say take it... but you should look for other options while you have this one... and since there is broken time... use that to your advantage in in applying for other jobs...
Having the experience is the best thing that this job can give to you... despite the low salary... so just try to make do with it... until you find something much better...

We have to pay 450 right away for the uniform. I think I dont want to give money if im not gonna take long in working with them. I dont really need a job since I dont have to support anyone. I think I just have to wait for other opportunity. Thanks for the response!

if you think that you can get a better one without a problem, then you should be going for that other one. Do not make hasty decisions and make sure that whatever you decide to do is reasoned. If you are confident then don't be scared to give this one a skip and try for another one, but if you are not then you can have this one for the mean time and when you get a better one, jump to that. But working below the minimum salary is not really good.

Me, I will accept the job. Then after a month or so, I will report them to the Department of Labor and Employment for not following the minimum wage law. The restaurant can put-up branches in those type of establishments, why can't it pay it's employees fairly as dictated by the law?

I have to work for them first before I can get the money. I think its not worth my effort. I better have another job than work hard to get below minimum salary. Thanks for the response!

I think you've made a good decision not to take the job. The fact that the establishment pays below minimum tells us that it's not concerned with its employees. A good employer cares for his/her employees so try to look for someone that's like that.

Thanks for agreeing. I thought im being too choosy with the status of our economy right now. I also thought that the salary is not proper for a korean restaurant. Minimun is just fine but not below minimun. Its not a low class restaurant so I really think the salary they offer is not right! Thanks for the response!

esatblishments do this cause they know people really need work so if you really need it bit the bullet nas lang.
However, it is our responsibility tp promote good labor practices if you think you can do better in life with a company that pays minimum go for it! :)

With the way the economy is going nowadays, I think you should just stick to your current work even if it doesn't pay that much. Just think of the thousands or even millions of Filipinos right now who are struggling for their families to eat at least 2 complete meals a day.

For me, I think it is not worth the time because there are still other company's that would pay more than that. Try to assess your skills on what are the things you can do and you are capable of. If you can handle a job better than a restaurant, you could earn more. Try transcription companies. They pay like 12,000 basic salary without commissions. That's just my idea, hehehe.
Happy Mylotting!

If you are lookingfor experience, I guess you should give it a shot. I've worked with them before and believe me they are way stingy... I can't even believe how I lasted two years teaching them... Oh well... if you have a better offer then look for other opportunities or better yet... run... leave as fast as you can!!! I just don't like them that much as they do not have respect for our laws and policies...

Hi Angelbelle, if you really have no other choice, you may like to consider working there, at least it is an income.
Beside the salary, you may have a chance to learn cooking korean food. If you are able to help in the kitchen, and able to make friends with the cooks there, you can learn korean cooking, and maybe you have a chance to open a korean restaurant in the future.
Money is one thing, experience is another. Obviously the best is to have both. If not, you have to weigh the career prospect of working there and the likelihood of learning useful skills.

well,i think i won't go there to work for them,if i were u.There are many jobs, why should you have to take this?i mean, you can find a better job than this one, such as the Chinese restaurants you've said,
then,if you really cannot find a more suitable one,you should have to take this, little than none,

Do you have a further plan for your development in future? If you do,judge the job according to your plan with questions like whether the job will help to accumulate related experience while improving your financial situation or not,do the job hits your interests or it's just a bridge leading to another opportunity and so on.you are a girl, right?Chinese?I am college graduted student from South China and now being working in a Japanese company which i don't like for a while. So i am going to say is that i've felt the complexity in mind through the process of hunting a good job and sincerely i hope you can make a quick decision and enjoy your life.

Hi angelbelle,
What i think Korean resturant salary is low but tips makes for it. If this is the case then no harm but if it is still less even with tips lesser than the minimum wages then also take the job and keep trying for a better one because when u have a job then new employers would have to give a better package because they would know she is earning this much there and if we need her we cant give her less than that while if you dont have any Job then they would give u a job like they are doing a favour to u and would offer you quite less.
