MP3 or MP4?

I am planning to have a personal stereo.I only use it to listening music.Which is better,mp3 or mp4? What are you guys using? which brand?which model?If is possible,please introduce some good model to me. Thanks a lot~~

I think MP4 is suitable. About brand,all the people knows Ipod!
