My son when he was three years old and been to school for just 6 months got up one day and as I was readying him for school he asked me " Mama CAn I retire now? " He had seen his grandfather lazing around and doing what he wanted at his will and therefore he thought that is the best thing to do . That an early retirement! One day, I was making a Tajore painting of Lord Krishna and my daughter, who was 5 yrs at that time, was watching me paint very seriously, suddenly she commented "mom, you keep pestering us to wear slippers all the time but look, even your God does not wear slippers, why don't you say something to them?"

My eldest daughter, who is now nearly six, said something very funny when she was about four. She said "I love you Daddy, you're my favourite Daddy". I told her that was very nice and I was happy that she loves me but asked her what she meant about me being her favourite daddy. She said "All my friends have got one but you're my favourite". Logic that can't be faulted! Another good one from a child that was on a bus once had me in absolute stitches. The child, a little boy, was misbehaving a bit so his mother told him that if he didn't behave he wouldn't be allowed to go on the swings later on that day. His mother said "..and you like going on the swings don't you?" To which the little boy, as loudly as he possibly could, said "You and Dad like swinging too". Precious.

"Can I retire now" is the most delightful and amusing thing for a three year old to say. Your son's grandfather seems to be having a relaxing time so it is tempting to join him in retirement to young eyes. My friend is pregnant and went for an ultrasound scan. Her three year old son asked "Why isn't the baby wearing a shirt"? so I thought that was very funny indeed. Children of that sort of age say some memorable things.

That is very funny. I know I have had a lot of those moments with my nephew. When he was 3, he would not eat any vegetables. He is a smart kid, knows sign language, knows how to spell his name, was very excited to start school. My brother told him that he needed to start eating vegetables or they would not let him in school. He simply spelled his name out in sign language while voicing, "L-O-G-A-N does not need vegetables.
