Do you believe that everyone deserves a second chance?

Second chance - Personally I think that there is no harm in giving a second chance to a person who has committed a mistake. We are not that great to judge a person by his very first mistake itself. To err is very very human and to forgive is divine.Let us be more human that is very very close to being divine.

No one is useless on earth. That would make you , me and all useless. May be we are disillusioned and do things that might not be justified for others. Even a Kasab has a reason. I know I will get scathing censures for this but what I mean is that we all do mistakes and I would like to give every one a second, may be third, fourth... chance. Also, when I say giving chance it sounds like an air of superiority. I would say, that we its rather helping one live a better life. Every person deserves a better living and by thinking that he will commit the same mistake we just under estimate his will power. There are lost cases but they die thousand deaths before dying. Why not give them another chance?

SEcond chances are only given to those who truly deserve it. Not all people deserve it. Im not saying that some people might be incapable of change but some are just quite stubborn to stick to their old ways. Or some are just saying that they'll change but that's all there is:words. They wont be translating their words into actions that will lead them to change. Some wont even try.

It's upto people to change and for us to give second chances. That's the nature of the human spirit---forgiving. Some make the best use of it and some do not. People try to change Bala, and it's the effort we see that get's us going.

I really believe that it depends on the type of individual whether they are sincere or not. If they are willing to accept responsability for their actions and ask for forgiveness. On the other hand, some people will never change even if you give them thousands of chances.

Everyone should be given a second chance. As long as the matter is not too serious. Everyone makes a mistakes. We should learn from it and improve our life so that we can steer clear of all the hazards that we will encounter in our daily life. These lessons in life come in handy and provide a valuable lesson to students who are willing to learn.

people do change,if they put their mind to anything.if a person asks for a second chance and my heart tells me he/she is truely repentant,i do give him second chance but it becomes really difficult for me to trust them like before.

I think most people deserve a second chance, but not someone like the mansons.

The name Mansons sends a shiver down my spine.I wonder how a human could be so diabolic.I saw the movie long time back 'Helter skelter' based on the Mason butchering Sharon Tete and gang.It was so terrifying.Second chance to people like him?No chance at all.

Whilst I believe that everyone ought to get the opportunity of a second chance, that is always going to depend on what it is that they've done. If someone has done something that has caused someone serious harm, they can't be allowed a second chance in case they injure another innocent.

I liked to think that people change, but recently I do not believe that. My boyfriend used to have relationships that would last a month or so and cheat and they would be over, we went out for just over a year and a half. So while he changed in terms of being able to have a lasting relationship, I have just found out that he kissed someone else therefore hasn't changed on the cheating front. Now I am sceptical of whether people can change.

It would depend on the situation. I don't see anyone as useless, but there are people who hurt me to no end that doesn't get a second chance. I mean if a man cheats on me then he doesn't deserve a second chance.

I think that everyone deserve a second chance but not too many chances. If a person is not willing to appreciate the chance given, he/she might as well not ask for a second chance. Isn't it shameful to not appreciate a 2nd chance. I am very grateful for all the second chances that I got and I try my best to make the most of those chances which might never come again in life.

I would like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt at least once. Give them a second chance and see what they do with it. People can and do change, though not all. But I will never know unless I trust them one more time. Of course I would take into consideration what they did the first time and the cost of giving them another chance. Sort of "once bitten, twice shy!" In other words I would be careful but willing.

Well i don't think EVERYONE deserves it, if the person has done it (the mistake) for the first time or if his mistake is is not big then he/she deserves a second chance but it depends on the situation and damage caused and the will of persons involved in it. Most people could be given a second chance but not ALL.

Hi bala, personally I feel people tend to never change, but on the other hand I do beleive that everyone should be given a second chance, but the third if there is a third chance is really a 'no no', as the third time things will never change not matter how a person feels or the situation is...LoLo

I do believe that everyone deserves a second chance. I think that there are people who just made some mistakes along the way and it was not intentional. All of us deserve a second chance. If we close our doors to them it would be unfair.

I do believe in second chances. I think it really boils down to can we give them one? There are occasions in which one can be hurt badly enough to where they can't bring theirself to give one another chance. At least for a while. I agree that it does depend on the situation.
@balasri (26537)

You are right. You just cannot generalize this issue of giving a second chance to everyone. It is easy for an outsider to preach everyone to give a second chance. But the pain and torment could only be understood by the person who had undergone through a bad experience because of a bad person.

I think everybody does. We are just human, not god. Imperfection is human has, so "forgive" if anybody make a mistake or hurt to us. Second chance what we give, hopes they don't make a "second mistake". If they do the same thing again for second, i think stop to forgive. That is wise i think. In relationship with my girls, i always forgive to first any mistake, i always forgive it and let her to second chance. If they did the same thing again, i never forgive her. I choose broke up and forget her.
